Fuck. Can't decide between an Arcade and the 60GB pro. On a bit of a budget. If I get the arcade I can get RE5 and SF4 along with Halo Wars (probably won't play it) The 60gb leaves me with the choice of only RE5 or SF4..

Is it a massive difference running the game off the HDD? (I know there will be quicker load times.. but apart from this?) And is this the only advantage?

$288 for an arcade system is really good, along with trading in the halo wars for $40-50..

Personally the only reason i use my hard drive for games is that it reduces the noise of the xbox 360 and reduces the chance of the dvd-rom failing as most games you find the drive spinning at full speed. Lesser load times are nice, but not my main priority.

Since you are on a budget i'd just grab the arcade, in the end you are buying a console to play games The more money saved, the more money can go towards gaming.

I was thinking of buying a hdd down the track anyway if necessary.. if the rom fails.. warranty for the winner. Do the new arcade consoles come with that new firmware update already??

If you are wanting Jasper you will have more luck with Pro console, i have both falcon and jasper and really mate i wouldn't worry which you get, i recommend the arcade and then 120gb you effectively then have a "white elite"

Just bought one off the forum.. arcade.. 120 gigs are pricey but i'll get at least a 60gb hdd down the track if I deem it necessary.. I think another controller is required.

I remember with the Wii and Dreamcast I had to buy component cables for a better quality pc.. do you have to buy this with the 360 or do they come with it? If so.. what am I looking at?

about $50 for the cables. though if you got the pro or elite then it would come with component cables already.

Ok, my LCD is HDMI ready but doesn't have HDMI.. I think i've got the component cables left over from the Wii I bought.. are they exchangeable or do I need a new set for the 360?

Not sure what you mean by HDMI Ready and no HDMI??

Do you mean HD Ready and no HDMI?

Your Wii cables will not work.

HDMI ready means 720p or 1080i. Full HD means anything up to and including 1080p. Some eary HDTVs didn't have HDMI ports but component can easily transport 720p or 1080i to your HDTV.

HDMI ready does not mean that... well not from what I've ever heard or read.

The display will either say HD Ready or Full HD... never heard of HDMI Ready in my life.

HDMI is a cable.. nothing less.

Same. Never heard of 'HDMI Ready'... either you have HDMI ports, or you don't.

Usually devices come with the HDMI Ready branding to indicate they have HDMI ports alongside composite/component.
