i have a windows xp cd, can i copy the content and put on a usb drive and install windows from there?

also for the linux and windows xp version of eeebox, is there any recovery cds or hidden partitions?

I assume its similar to a EeePC, so google has a variety of results: http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=e...eee+pc&spell=1

Do you guys need windows on such a low powered PC?

I highly recommend trying Ubuntu 8.10 Linux if you haven't before. On a box with EeeBox specs, linux will run faster, boot quicker and give you far more flexibility in what you can do without the huge hassles of windows.

You can create a bootable USB version of Ubuntu very, very easily - boot from that, install to your EeeBox and be using it within 30 minutes of putting that USB key in!

How to create a USB version of Ubuntu:

* Download an Ubuntu 8.10 desktop ISO --> http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download
* Leave the ISO file somewhere easy to browse, like your C: drive root directory
* Burn the .iso image to a CD
* Plug in your USB key (2GB+ preferred, fat32 format)
* Reboot your PC and boot from the CD drive
* Select the "try ubuntu" option
* Follow the steps here, using the .iso from your C: drive as the image file --> http://tombuntu.com/index.php/2008/1...in-ubuntu-810/

* Now plug the USB key into your eeebox, and boot from it! Install Ubuntu and there you go!

You'll be up and running with Ubuntu 8.10 in 20-30 minutes. You can install wine, utorrent, VLC, office, etc... you can use firefox, opera, flash, gimp (like photoshop), cd ripping apps, etc...

No need for drivers/screwing around, should all work out of the box*

* Note I don't have an EeeBox, getting wireless working should be fairly easy if it doesn't work by default - google is your friend!
