Default tablet problems!

Hey guys i have a tablet laptop ( toshiba portege 3500 )

and it doesnt have a cd/dvd. or floppy drive, i need to install windows on it as it is corrupt, how do i do this?, network or something?, i bought a 2.5" to 3.5" hdd addapter thinking i could plug the lappy hdd into my desktop and do it that way except that i cant becuase the adapter wasnt missing the 1 pin from the center of it so wouldnt plug into my ide cable from my desktop, any ideas how to get windows onto my tablet??????

A few options:

(1) Just cut the extra pin off the adaptor. It's not needed anyway. I cut the one off mine and it's fine. Alternatively you can find an IDE cable that doesn't have the pin blocked off.

(2) Get a USB CD drive. I've got a Latitude XT which faces the same sorts of problems (no internal optical drive). Using a USB CD drive to install Windows worked fine.

(3) If you copy the contents of the Windows CD onto a USB drive, that should work for installing Windows - but it might be very slow.
