Yep, hit the nail on the head. They did this with the last model as well - knobheads they are.
Their reply is always to go with a USB 10/100 stick like: http://www.auspcmarket.com.au/show_p...tegory_id]=293 IMHO, hanging anything like that out of one of these things is a complete waste of time when you have paid to dollar to get everything integrated into such a tiny package.

but they dont really have space for 2 lan ports, plus this would be completely overpowered as a router / firewall.

http://www.fit-pc.com/new/fit-pc-1-0...fications.html Yes, it is over speced as a router / firewall, but not at all as a home server. You start to add webmail or a few sweeties to Apache and you are right on the money with the specs it comes with. Be aware the base model is 1.1Ghz and not the Z530 1.6Ghz chip. If you want the 1.6Ghz CPU and Wifi the price starts at $359 USD + delivery for the fit-PC2 Linux Performance . The wifi is only B/G also. Don't get me wrong, I like 'em, but I just had expected more from them this time round (it is their third go at a consumer model). I don't think the power usage (lack of it) and it's size is enough of a draw card when you can get an eeebox in Aus for $340 (AUD). http://onlinecomputer.com.au/product...oducts_id=1981 or from our own Sponsor Specials Forum for $299. http://forums.overclockers.com.au/sh...d.php?t=750543

true.
i also would have liked to see some sort of vga output on it, considering the majority of carpc screens (one of their intended targets) use vga, not dvi or hdmi ![]() also, its price compared to other small computers / laptops is pretty abysmal. you could get an eeepc for that, which is marginally larger, but also includes an lcd..

Has anyone actually seen where you can buy these things yet? I've looked all over their website(s) and it keeps redirecting you all over the place and I can't seem to find any straight information which says where/how to buy it.

He posted three days ago, so they are still alive.... I think they are struggling to move old stock and having to add value to their price point - IMHO.

http://www.fit-pc2.com/order/order.html I plan on purchasing one in a couple of weeks (the Fit-PC2 Diskless option) and will do a mini review if people are interested.

Good choice on the model too I recon - it's the one I would buy but I just can't part with the $450 aud + 2.5" hdd. Before then, can you tell us what you have planned for it? OS, what job will it be doing, etc. Will it get an SSD to keep with the lowest power theme? When you do the story on it, we'll have to drop a line to Agg - I don' think anyone else in OCAU will have one but you.
