The deals seem to get better as the days go on. Up to $250 off the Studio 15 by the end of the week, and it seems to combine with the EPP OR the Hipper Campus discount.

Compared to 1 year ago , the deals are dreadful.

compared to the competition the deals are even worse.

Specs are down , prices are up. I cant see any value in any dell laptop.

F.

(I own a dell vostro 1500 and love it )

Fair point. The only thing that would make me consider Dell these days is the warranty with accidental cover.

Another "Days of Deals" type promotion on at the moment.

http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/topi...dhs&ref=homepg

The Hipper Campus OR the EPP deals combine with the Days of Deals promotions so you can get a few hundred dollars off some laptops.

My laptop was recently stolen, so I'm looking for a replacement.

So far the Dell deals aren't doing much for me. Base prices seem inflated, so once discounts are applied the result is nothing too exciting.

I might have to hit up the 'laptops for a grand' thread, and see what's happening these days

With the $200ish off deals + 10% off on the Studio 1555 you can spec a pretty decent comp for around $1600ish with a good warranty.

As I said before, the warranty for DELL/Lenovo is what sells me.

They dont seem that good. As they appear to be removing components or reducing them, so you end up paying more if you want the same as what they had without the deal.

That post was talking about the Easter Deals, since those deals have ended they've started charging for colour changes etc. This round of deals isn't as good.

Some decent deals in the outlet at the moment, specifically some latitudes and 13" XPS models.

What are you talking about?
The E6400/E6500 models are around half price at $1200-1400 when the full price starts at $2400/$2500.

Notice they no longer sell the old XPS models, but the outlet models are a $400 saving off the new base Studio XPS model (although the studio model has better specs).

I am not sure where you can see them at half price. As the Dell website clearly has them at $2400.
