Default Eee Box stand issues

Has anyone else received an eeebox with a bracket and stand that has the wrong thread to the one thats on the eee box?

I was just assembling the freshly received box and the mounting screw just wouldn't go in .. after a couple more tries the nut dislodged and the nut was rattling inside. After just about complete disassembly I fished the nut out but it is for a smaller screw! anyway going to put in a nut that fits in there and see how it goes. I dont particularly feel like taking this thing apart again such a pain. but I have to get it up and runing today.

Diesmile: Do you know whether the units shipped in Australia include the plate to mount the EeeBox to the back of a monitor via the VESA mounting holes?

I bought an eeebox from onlinecomputers.com.au (as per the discount on the sponsors page on this site). It came with both the monitor mounting plate, and the desk-stand. It comes with 4 screws to attach the plate to the monitor.

@Op, i never had that issue with the screw thing. The screw head was large enough to be screwed tightly with a 5c piece. seems really strange!!! maybe you used the monitor stand screws by mistake???

erm no I tried both the stand and the backing plate with the original screws. In the end I took the thing appart and retrieved the nut that came loose and it was for a different thread. I happen to have a bolt to fit it and so I made a make shiift reapir to it. Its all back together now and mounted to the back of the monitor. But such a waste of time for a poorly designed mount. The nut is just pressed onto the metal so be carefull you dont put too much stress on it when mounting even with the right thread.

Cheers
