Due to allot of older games causing problems on systems post XP we have 2 compatibility lists in the wiki.
Vista game compatibility list Windows 7 game compatibility list Latest DirectX Notes
How to edit the WIKI The code for the lists are as follows the RED parts (only red in this example) are what you edit the rest is the code for that game line which is still needed per game. Quote:
To add a new game to the list just copy everything in the section including <tr> to </tr> into the correct area which is determined by the game names alphabet then you edit the parts in red listed above. Here is a brief explanation of each of the fields.
Colour codes are: lightgray = Untested green = Working yellow = Mostly working orange = Lots of problems red = Doesn't run Here is a full example of a game Call of Duty 4 in the Windows 7 list:
Code:
<tr>
<td>Call of Duty 4</td>
<td style="background: yellow"></td>
<td style="background: orange"></td>
<td><center>No</center></td>
<td>Single player; works fine on both. <br>Multiplayer x86: Some tweaking required to get punkbuster working. <br>Multiplayer x64: NO current fixes to enable punkbuster to work.</td>
</tr>
If you need to use more space for Notes feel free to put that extra info in the discussions page.

someone should make a Windows 7 one as well.
I'd really like to know who keeps deleting the dx9 stuff as well.

If there's a typo in the wiki that's what wiki's are for for anyone to edit
![]() Since I posted that I've done editing and cleanup on typos etc for both lists.

As for the DitectX 9c vs 10 half debate thing I removed that as DirectX is one install package for both XP and Vista, 9 and 10. And the link to the redist was removed as its hard to update every month and now m$ has put a validation req on the full redist.

EDIT: Yep confirmed the link on that page goes to the end run time combined version. So its just 1 install now for both versions.

In early 08 because allot of people complained about this compatibility and different versions etc Microsoft merged 9c and 10 into 1 package and made it for all systems post XP in 1 install package. Quote:

I'll go ahead and neg that DX9 is included in the installation package. AutoCAD 2009 requires DX9, I downloaded the latest DirectX package and AutoCAD would not run, I had to download the DX9 specific package.
Updated Win7 L4D x64 as working. |
