Cheers mate, once I am done with Uni for this semester (7 days and counting!) there will be heaps of progress and updates coming in.
I really want to work on it now, but I gotta get my priorities in order. Dont really want to fail a $900 unit.

Hi guys, yes I know, need an update.
So, I've spent a couple of hours this weekend working on this (long weekends don't matter to me as I am on holidays and only working one day a week). Been pretty busy just catching up on sleep and seeing mates that I have been neglecting in the last few weeks of Semester due to Uni workload being insane. Anyhow, I don't have any pics right now, but some will come tomorrow when I get a chance to upload them from my camera. So I have been working on the front section, and tbh it is really starting to annoying me, the repetitiveness of mixing the bog, laying it, letting it cure, then shaping and sanding it and repeating over and over is getting annoying. It feels like I am not making any progress, but looking at pics from 2 weeks ago and what it looks like now I have made progress, it's just that it is soooo slow and repetitive that it isn't that noticeable at first. I really just want to finish the front panel off so I can get it assembled and wired up and the lighting going! Another issue I have come across is mounting the front blowhole fan, I want to put four bolts though the plastic panel as there isn't much of a mount to mount it from behind onto the metal frame. So I bought some bolts that were 38mm long and 3mm wide, but these turned out to be about 5mm too sort, so I had to buy longer bolts that were 55mm long but also 5mm wide, which is too thick for the fan holes. So now I am going to have to drill out the fan holes. So yeah, basically it has gotten complicated and I am lacking the ideas or know-how in order to find a quick and easy resolution. I'll figure something out though, I hope. Oh, does anyone know if bog dust is carcinogenic or otherwise harmful? I was sanding away the bog this afternoon and wasn't wearing a mask and now I have a weird powdery taste in my mouth. I think I might wear a dust mask from now on..

I think you should, even a cheap dust mask would help. I don't think you would want too much of that shit clogging up your chest.

Yeah I was working on my project today, cutting plastic and sanding bog. Was wearing an industrial grade particle mask the whole time, as last night I had a rank taste in the back of my throat and my nose was itchy after I had been sanding bog for a while.

if your not going to wear a mask, make sure your outside....
and even if youve got a mask, make sure youve got some form of slow ventilation happening so you havent got it hanging round for hours.

Yeah all my work is done in the back yard under the veranda, pretty well ventilated, but I still don't want to breath any of that crap in.
With vapours having ventilation is important as you need it to vaporise and disperse and not concentrate, however with dusts and particle irritants you apparently have to be cautious even if you are outside, as you mentioned, the dust can hang around the area if there isn't good airflow and you can breath in dust as soon as it is sanded, regardless of ventilation.
