Hey guys, looking for a couple of things atm (as per http://forums.overclockers.com.au/sh...6#post13128366)

-Antec modular PCIE cable
-Brand name (Antec, coolermaster, corsair) PSU over 400w (around $20-$30)

I've got a GTX260 sitting here but didn't realise they require 2xPCIe cables, so I either need an adapter or the modular cable, as I can't find one from my Neopower.

Also happy to take a PSU off your hands, looking to obtain another 260 in the following days and put into a sli system.

Hey Shadowman,

Found a couple of the modular cables, if you want to donate $10 into the folding fund they're yours. http://forums.overclockers.com.au/sh...d.php?t=944548

Pm me your address and i'll send them in an express post satchel tomorrow.

Cheers
Belial

Looking for $100 for the CPU, RAM and Mobo...
Would you split? I'm after a board for $50 or less that has two PCIE.

It's not really the correct thread for this, but I don't think I need to start a new one. I just spotted a EVGA GTX460 768mb for $110 including express postage in the FS section. It should provide at least 10K ppd.Link.

Hi guys

I am new to folding and newish to the latest hardware.

I would like to buy a complete box (everything but a monitor, keyboard and mouse, i have all those) that is set to go folding as soon as it's booted up.

I'd like to buy a box that has the best folding client on it and it's already setup and configured, all I have to do it is run it 24/7.

I will be folding for Team 24 - of course

What type of PC could I get 2nd hand from a good folder for say between $300 and $500? Something that will make a difference to Team 24 and ROCK THE BOAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I want to get 5+ boxes one day, all folding 24/7 under this nick, DEDICATED TO FOLDING HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!

I am excited! So, if any of you are selling a box or can make one up for me for that price range or cheaper, post here or pm me and we can go further.

I have no problem with postage and also no problem meeting you in person if you live in Brisbane or the Gold Coast.

I really can't wait to start folding hardcore and get Team 24 to no.7 spot...ONE DAY WE WILL BE NO.1 YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!

Hey mate,

Keep an eye out on the FS forums. For around that budget, I'd get a nice simple dual/quad core setup and some cheap GTX460s. You should be able to get an older Core2Duo/Athlon2 with some ram for sub $100, a cheap dual slot PCIe boar for under $100, 550w PSU for around $100 and a couple (maybe 1 to start with) GTX460s for $100-$120 each.

Setting it up is also easy, especially with the new V7 client and full instructions on the official forums

I've got a ghetto style folding box that's served me well for a good 2 years that I will be switching off after the chimp challenge has ended. Depends on what you're after really.

I bought an old previously watercooled Antec p180 case (so it's big and ugly and has cutouts on the top of the case), chucked afew 120mm fans in, has a celeron dualcore with an old SLI motherboard, running two 8800GSes on a Seasonic S12 430W Power Supply. Once upon a time when 8-9k ppd was a good turnover lol.

The case is noisy but keeps things cool. If you wanted to keep the power supply, you could run something like a single 560Ti on it, otherwise another option on your budget would be two GTX460s with a beefier power supply (someone might want to provide input if the newer video cards need a better cpu if running two of these, and if the two pcie 8x slots will be sufficient as I haven't been following the latest updates either).

I'm happy to let it go for say $100 without the video cards or $150 with them, but yeah postage is obviously gonna be a killer. Happy to set up for ya so its ready to fold if you want to follow one of the options recommended above as well.

Sold for $150. 8-9k ppd is fine for me and the price is great. Please pm me to discuss payment and shipping. What are the full specs btw? And I am after a PC that all I need to do is turn on and the folding app is already configured and will fold well and all I need to do is keep it on 24/7 and pay for electricity which isnt a problem.

Thanks mate.
