Biography: I used to do pub photography as a hobby as a late teen with a film Minolta SLR. It cost me on average $100 a week to develop and get film for the next week. My website grew out of that. Long since lost that camera to an ex girlfriend.
Recently I was intrigued at the publicity of the D90 and though it would be a great starter to get back into some photography. My partner and I will be heading O/S in 2 months for a year and we decided we wanted the best pics possible to remember. Both of us have taken some short courses here in Canberra and have found that we enjoyed this as a hobby. Whilst I DJ at a local nightclub, my partner has had a lot of fun taking photos there as well.

Biography:

Been taking photos since a young age on my father's Olympus OM-2n and my first real camera - an Olympus PEN camera from my grandmother. After shooting on B&W film for a number of years, developing them at home in a converted darkroom. I later rediscovered my passion for capturing moments with a Kodak DC265 digital camera at social events, amazed by the instantaneous possibilities afforded by the digital format. When I borrowed a 300D some years later, I was yet to be convinced as the feel of the digital SLR didn't match up to the old Olympus gear. It wasn't till late 2004 when I first picked up the 1Ds Mark II that an addiction was born and as a result, have shot with Canon equipment ever since.

A hobby that's turned professional, I find myself shooting sports, events and most recently, weddings. I've always had a preference for capturing natural light and ambience and I believe that, technical abilities aside, the most valuable asset to create an environment which the subjects are comfortable, relaxed and natural.

Born in 1979, in Sydney Australia and later moving to Brisbane, Lance has always shown a flair for the slightly unusual. He attended Balmoral High School in Brisbane's Inner-East, and discovered a passion for the Arts and Media, completing a Cert.
