  • Can the Username and team column be combined? "Mitsimonsta (24)" would be sufficient for me.
  • I've always wanted to see a deadline marker on a progress bar. Either a red line showing where the deadline is, a bit like how they show the 'world record line' on the swimming telecasts. You can see the swimmer in front or behind the deadline.....not sure that the progress bars have a secondary data stream available to it.

Otherwise, initial reaction is good and I will have a play with the web output soon enough.
Good deal... Thanks mitsimonsta!

Could I ask you to add those Issues to the HFM.NET Google Code Page for me? That would be a huge help. If not, I'll come back and get these later.

Great suggestions!

...and now without further adieu...

New Version: 0.2.0 - Build 20 - Beta - Download

- md5: e00511463fc31a6e75f92cfc4c60419f

- sha1: 939135b95f48392370b4b98bad876974c5f79093

Change Log
  • Fix: Only accumulate Completed and Failed counts on most recent unit parse.
  • Fix: Final fix for resuming from a long pause. I think I've got it licked now.
  • Fix: Parsing of frame percentage from older clients like v5.02.
  • Fix: Parsing Frame 0 - which doesn't happen with GPUs and rarely on SMP. However, Standard clients often report Frame 0.
  • Fix: Unhandled exception that occurs when viewing the benchmarks window with no clients loaded (actually no client selected).

  • Change: Setup frmPreferences to only show the WebBrowser control when not running under Mono Framework.
  • Change: Patched the main Project Resources.resx file for case sensitivity.

Upgrading HFM to the latest release
  • When upgrading HFM, please take the new Zip file and extract it to the same location as your current install and overwrite the older files.

  • The user settings are tied to the location of the HFM.exe file. So if you move or otherwise rename any directory in the path to the HFM.exe file, you will lose your custom settings. Please choose your install location wisely, I recommend a very generic folder name like "\Program Files\HFM". Settings will also not follow the application from machine to machine. It is possible to transfer them and I will post instructions on how to do so at a later time.

Nothing too special here... other than some bug fixes. Hopefully this will be the last Build under the 0.2.0 version. Setting up to get our Linux minded friends a somewhat supported Mono Build / Instructions. Otherwise, I'm planning for the future. Hopefully the next release will be a feature release. But for the mean time, I plan on taking a small break. May look at this a little this weekend, work on web documentation, but not too heavily.

Didn't want to load your bugtracker up with feature requests. Just thought it might be worth planting the seeds in your head.

Will drop them in sometime over the next few hours.

Requires a Google account, something that I will never sign up for. You may need to push them in yourself.

Sorry, nothing against you personally, but I refuse to use any google hosted service except where I must - we are moving email at work to GoogleApps which I absolutely hate. But that is not my personal stuff, and the site will not accept a GoogleApps for domains login.

I am the person who actively blocks all Google tracking services with NoScript.

Hey... no problem. I know it's not personal.

I've got 'em saved off already... just need to add them to the Issues list.

You know... I'm so used to hearing people (like... my coworkers) curse Microsoft that it's kinda nice to hear someone bash Google once in a while.

I use their Google Code hosting and GMail... that's it. So I'm not fully entrenched in Google-dom. More like, married to Microsoft.

The Google Code hosting is really nice and reliable... and I like the look and feel better than SourceForge.

Let me know how you like those new shiny bits!

New Version: 0.2.1 - Build 23 - Beta - Download

- md5: 21e8e4690bf1960f21737ba9858b8772

- sha1: c2c52c12e257052906ada6a026dc61671561a8dd

Change Log
  • Enhancement: Major upgrade to the HTML Summary page. Now outputs a table with the same columns as the main HFM UI including the proper status color.
  • Enhancement: Add Mobile Overview (mobile.html) and Mobile Summary (mobilesummary.html) Web Generation.
  • Enhancement: Allow website to be uploaded via FTP when a FTP style URL is input as the Target Folder.
  • Enhancement: Added ToolTip for the Status column that shows the text representation of the current Status.
  • Enhancement: Added check of Username and Team vs. the configured Username and Team (will show Orange with ToolTip if incorrect).
  • Enhancement: Added Preferences setting to control how many decimals are shown in PPD calculations (0 to 5 decimal places).

  • Change: Add the user input processor MHz as a column.
  • Change: Remove the Team column and Combine it with the Username column (will require you to reset your column widths).
  • Change: Reference the correct casing of the CSS files, and add code to make sure previous versions of HFM will still find the right CSS selection... however, to "fix" the entry in the Preferences the user will need to accept the Preferences Form after upgrading. This change for the casing is necessary to support running on Mono in a Linux environment.

  • Fix: Preferences Dialog - add code to allow only digits to be input in either Minutes field, the EOC ID, Team Number, or Proxy Port field.
  • Fix: Bug that caused the main grid Sort Order to be lost after minimizing the main UI window.
  • Fix: Web Generation code now wrapped in try/catch, if the web generation would fail the timers would not be reset and thus HFM would stop refreshing the client data.

  • Suggested Setting (Linux): Try "xdg-open" for logfile viewer and file explorer.

  • When upgrading HFM, please take the new Zip file and extract it to the same location as your current install and overwrite the older files.

Hey... Hey... Hey... New Build. Mostly focusing on some Web Generation improvements and Mono Support. Although there are still issues, there really isn't a major show stopper halting HFM from running on Linux under the Mono Runtime. Please see the issues list on the HFM Google Code page for things I'm already aware of. In other words, you can use the distributed v0.2.1.23 binaries directly on Linux, should be no need to recompile. Otherwise, the Web Generated Summary Page has been beefed up to present all the data available in the main UI in addition to adding special pages for mobile browsers.

- sha1: d1cb4e94f3ecba03d85c7d5f9fbfc6526ce15839

Change Log
  • Enhancement: Add User Stats Data Display from EOC XML along with option to enable or disable the display.
  • Enhancement: HTML Summary - User Name cells as Orange background when User Name does not match the User Name configured in the Preferences.
  • Enhancement: Added five new style sheets for more Website color options.
  • Enhancement: Conversation time of HTML Upload via FTP is now being logged (Info Level).

  • Change: Each HTML page now has a link to the HFM.NET Google Code page. Using alternating colors on Overview page.
  • Change: Small tweak to the LogParser.cs when CheckForProjectID() writes the warning message "Failed to parse the Project (R/C/G) values from '{0}'" generated by SetProjectID(). There was no indication of which client log failed the parse and what value generated the warning.
  • Change: Protein Information on the Benchmarks Form now in text boxes (just aesthetics). Fix the spelling of "Preferred" on the Benchmarks Form.
  • Change: All Forms are now being set with DoubleBuffered = true in an attempt to further alleviate UI lag issues.

  • Fix: Grid columns not appearing in default order on some users systems. Manually create the columns and bind. Allows column headers to be labeled in a more visually friendly manner (i.e. they can have spaces now).

HFM.NET - 4th of July Edition. Hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th! The main feature addition here is the EOC Stats display in the HFM UI. This should update on schedule with EOC Stats (hopefully this will work fine for those outside the US- timezone issue). There is an option in the Web menu to Force a Refresh of this data if you find it's not updating. Couple other small updates to the Web Generation code and pages. Lastly, a fix for the default column order on some machines. Users who have not experienced this bug will not be effected. The side effect of this is now I can label the column headers with a more friendly name as they are no longer being auto generated by the class definition.

I guess that means you like it mitsimonsta?

Anyone else here using HFM.NET? I usually don't get much chatter about it from you blokes (sorry, just trying to fit in).

I just dl'd it and started it up on a Win 7 x64 installation 2 days ago.. excellent !! Very trouble free, nice response when adding clients, EOC access is GREAT ! Unless something whacky happens, you will see me on the donor list after 1 month of use

only one cosmetic comment - I agree with the person that suggested a lighter shade of green for the status bar.

Keep up the good work, I think you've got a winner.

I would like to whole-heatedly agree and endorse Aerosmythes comments.

I have just set HFM up only to discover, thanks to the excellent user name column, that one of my vm's usernames was corrupted, and one of my gpu's was folding for anon! It's all for the science, but I also just regained 7k ppd which I think is enough to put me back as top producer...

You have another convert, and a donation on the way!

I have been using it for the last month or so because fahmon would crash daily.

HFM has not crashed once in all that time and i find the complete and failed columns very useful.

I echo these sentiments. While I still use both HFM.NET and FahMon, The latter is getting used less and less.

Congrats! 7Kppd is not much to be sniffed at. The username column is one of the better features, came in handy during CC I tell you

Yep, there is a heap of information here. The PPD/Mhz is a bit useless for me, most of my points come from GPU, but it is certainly nice for the older Uniprocs I have at work.

This is excellent, especially the EOC stats in the status bar in the bottom of the window.

It also get the download time correct for my CPU SMP in a VM and the ETA in not out by the offset to UTC.

My suggestion is to right justify the ETA columns so it all lines up nicely for both time styles, and use double digits for hrs, mins and secs, eg Nd NNhrs NNmins for style 1 like you do for style 2 (N.NN:NN:NN). I don't see the need for seconds in the ETA for style 2 but perhaps others do.

Check, how's this look? Comparison if you will...

Chalk it up to the stability of managed code... there are trade offs vs. native code... but the stability is something I wanted as well, since FahMon crashed regularly for me too.

Hehe... I remember you making the push for donations to get fungus moving on some features, etc... that's been a while back. Well, I'll take all the users I can get... and I'll do my best to keep up the pace of the project.

I'll take that beer now.

Just a word to the wise for anyone who doesn't use the Mhz or PPD/MHz columns... you can turn them off (hide them). Right-Click on the Column Headers and you'll find a check-list for that very purpose.

re: green shade on status bar..... for what it's worth, I think the slightly lighter shade on the XP style window is better .. I know it's cosmetic, I don't want to make a big deal about it
