seriously. until its on store shelves and support lines in place for the consumer...then its NOT OUT YET.
I agree...although I am sure downtime from the OS isn't an issue. I am sure Windows 7 in RC1 is a fine OS...BUT it's RC1...

I'm not touching Windows 7 until it's Complete because I don't have time to "reinstall" an OS....Starting March 1st 2010 it will only run for 2 hours before finally shutting down on June 1st 2010. I know it seems like a long time between now and then but it's not and it will be one more chore to attend to. Also when the real thing finally comes out there will be the temptation to move to the Final Windows 7...

I just don't have time to install and reinstall in my production environment. I have enough to do.

When Windows 7 is Final THEN I will upgrade to it and use it.

I understand the workplace reasons but I did it on my home PC and it's fine since it's currently not mission critical.

+1 for Win7 . Installed Vista on my nieces old laptop, was actually surprised how good it was, must have sorted most of the problems out with the services packs.

Yeh I think Vista is fine...used it since it's RC1 (got sucked into that so am steering clear of the W7 merry go round )

UAC sucks until you turn it off and the slow networking was just bad but that's been sorted mostly. It has some other niggles I can't think of right now...all to most of which look to have been sorted out with Windows 7 (read the APC mag top 30 things you should know about Windows 7 - all of which I thought - yeh good one, yeh great, oh yeh definitely etc)

For me Vista was a disappointment because MS had SO much time and SO much money and SO many people to get it right/perfect/spot on from day one. But they didn't.

Windows 7 is what Vista should have been blah blah...

My wife will still want an iMac though

Vista at Home, XP Pro at Work. For non-windows OS's, MacOS on my personal Laptop, and a fair bit of remoting into Solaris and AIX machines at work.
