Default Battlefield: Bad Company 2

Beta commences 19th Nov for PS3 users, December for PC users, no reports on whether X360 will get a beta. Demo has been confirmed for "early" next year.

Graphics Engine:
- BFBC2 will utilise DICE's Frostbite engine
- Supports DX9, DX10 and DX11
- http://www.pcgameshardware.com/aid,6...y-ported/News/
- http://twitter.com/no1Joeno1/status/4971471547

Features
-Bad Company 2 is sequel to original Bad Company but unlike the original, it will be released on PC as well as console.
-Release date: 1st of March 2010, will be released on PC and consoles simultaneously.
-There will be regenerating health rather than a health bar now (ie CoD4/GoW style), devs said it would take longer to regen than most other fps though.
-Destruction 2.0; buildings are collapsible, "micro-destruction" allows chipping away of cover
-Deeper story
-Limited Edition for all platforms: http://blogs.battlefield.ea.com/batt...on-unviel.aspx
-Summary of limited edition: You get six unlocks (four vehicle upgrades/two 1943 weapons) straight away and it costs the same price as standard edition (there's just a limited supply )

Plot of original Bad Company

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battlef...d_company#Plot
- Bad Company 2 will follow on from the original Bad Company story, using same characters.

Gameplay:
-Maintains "Gold Rush" multiplayer from original Bad Company, however renamed to "Rush"
-Gold Rush: The setup of the game is an Attackers vs. Defenders scenario. One team must defend two crates filled with gold while the other team attempts to destroy the crates. Once the crates are destroyed, more of the map is available to fight on with new crates appearing, along with added reinforcement numbers. The attacking team has a limited amount of respawns to achieve their goal of capturing the 3-5 gold stashes either by setting charges or simply destroying the 2 crates of gold at each base. The defending team has an unlimited amount of respawns available, but their goal is to exhaust the attacking teams respawns.
-Unknown if Conquest will return, most likely yes.

Classes:
-Only 4 classes
-Assault, Engineer (engineer + support), Recon (sniper + spec ops), and Medic (equipped with defib now)
-Customizable kits; Primary + secondary weapons, many parts of your gun such as the scope and grenade-launcher type

The general consensus around here is that it's going to be a bad console port, but from playing the first one on the 360 I know as long as they don't stuff up the controls it'll be great.

all i want is a next gen remake of bf2 with gameplay enhancements, better unlock/exp system and matchmaking/friends.

2142 tried to do that but it should of been a free expansion, not a whole new game.

There's no money in making real games you should know this by now.

Glad to see they're sticking with Gold Rush.

Shit was superior to Conquest in almost every way. The map design can be much more focussed, and its less prone to having half your team not giving a toss about the actual objective.

Definitely in my top games to look out for.
