in the bad company 2 beta, all upgrade and level up progress was reset for the final release.

Got kicked and banned I think from an ASF server because I was apparently hacking

So i just started playing again and well..ive got a issue.

it crashes to desktop once i start loading single player (and im guessing multi-player too, i haven't tried that yet)

So does anyone know how to fix it?

ive got the latest (non-beta) drivers for my card, have the game all updated (patch R11) and have the latest version of punkbuster installed.

i never have it happen before..

i really wanted to play this and finally finish single player before BF3 beta hits tomorrow

...

check the hardware settings.ini file and change the refresh rate in it to 60 (and save it).

when you load up the game again it will flash the screen and reset to a lower res, you will need to set it to whatever your fav res is again and the max refresh rate. the ctd should be fixed from then on.

at least it worked for me.

Some OCAU guy never gets back to me when I talk to him in-game in relation to his OCAU alias. Annoying.
Also, has the default sensitivity changed for this game? Seems really sensitive on default now so I had to bump it down.

It's the shadows setting that causes that. Set it to low.

I got banned (i assume it's a ban, whenever I try to join it just says kicked) from the AGE Hardcore server for base raping. Sounds fair enough, except I knifed one guy (forgetting the no base raping rule), then got insta-kicked (by an admin, not the server), no warning. Haven't been able to get back in since... I even sent them a polite email with no reply.

Normally it wouldn't bother me, but I really liked that server

Plenty of servers out there.

I laugh at admins who ban for trivial reasons.

"No AT on infantry" rule is the best. Happen to aim for a tank and infantry pop up in line of sight after you fire? BAN!

"Ping over 200/300" Even though you are running around smoothly with a positive k/d ratio of 4? BAN!

"Making room for VIP" Even though you get kicked and rejoin the server after 20 secs? BAN!

There really are some shitty "admins" out there.....

think ill just re-install it. hopefully that should fix it.

I was just playing with my settings after installing my new 560ti and noticed the chat settings, and then came here and saw there had indeed been a patch.

I've fiddled with the settings, it looks like finally the issue with the black line flickering has gone. Huzzah!

Also, if you mess around with the settings ingame, it doesn't automatically reinstate bloom if you've disabled it. Another huzzah!
