The reward is winning games and beating the opposition... I don't play for unlocks or points, it was the same for BF2. Winning games is far more satisfying than any of that leveling up stuff.

I'd say BC2 had the perfect balance. BF3 feels very wishy washy with the pseudo "choices" you can make - hey went for quantity not quality and bombed out.
I don't see how any of the options in BF3 are wishy washy nor pseudo. They provide all attachments for all guns instead of being restrictive. You're not forced into using iron sights for snipers or 8x scopes for assault rifles, but if you want to then the game won't stop you. All the equipment have their own benefits as well as downsides, and it becomes pretty in depth when deciding what to use (even for simpler stuff like anti-vehicle weaponry).

If people can't see how linear and dumbed down BF3 is then i guess, ironically, it's their win / loss.
With the exception of Op Metro and Damavend Peak, I don't find any of the BF3 maps particularly linear. They certainly don't force you into crappy two lane choke points like BC2 does. And how exactly is BF3 dumbed down?

i'm completely over the game except for the occasional meh spam round of metro.
Metro is the furthest removed map from the Battlefield franchise style of play out of all the BF3 maps. On 64p conquest, metro just reminds me of the COD4 shipment map. Or maybe Killhouse. Just 24/7 explosives spamming.

I agree. It doesn't feel rewarding for some reason in BF3. I'm pretty sure (for me at least) the reason is with the overall tone of the game - dull colours.

Everything feels "bland". Without purpose. I think it's largely to do wiht how long it takes to unlock stuff and the fact that unlocks are for each item. Not for each class. It's more like "depth without purpose", there's so much stuff that there are so many counters for everything and the unlocks takes so long to get that you don't feel compelled to unlock them.

Wake island, Metro, tehran, and maybe a couple of others. Linear. Linear linear linear. And you have Jets doing 1 thing, helis doing another, tanks doing another, and everyone else doing something else. There is no cohesion, and that's so important for something so big. Commander was great for BF2, and BF3 just feels like a glorified sandbox.

You're right. I probably only play it because for some crazy reason it's me getting back at the devs for making the core of BF3 so crap.

Bleh :\

There are some real useless pricks on the servers tonight. If the side there on is loosing, they've been switching side. Its BS.

Been playing Bad Company 2 for an hour a day now for a week. Use to absolutely love this game. Although like an old person the 'past' is always better then the 'present' but I do think Bad Company 2 was better. After an hour though it get's boring. The guns are just way to easy to kill. With BF3 you don't die from colonel ranks, you die from n00bs camping or using RPG's.

Ok, so i havent had the chance to play BC2 on my intel rig with my 580....But i just hooked up the replacement GTS250 to my AMD rig and on the same settings i was using my 5450 (Low getting max of 35fps) i was getting upwards of 130fps with the 250. Is that normal? Even on high i'm getting a minimum of 50fps What the fuck have i been missing out on!

Might have to get the Google clan to migrate to Vietnam for the weekend. I know we had loads of fun last time.
