290MM from expansion slot to drive bay frames...

HD5870 from memory is 280MM

if the drive bay frame/cage was forward facing and not side facing... you could make it fit...

but unfortunately not sorry

youre gonna have to find a case that has more room or forward facing bays
Hang on. So it will fit.

290mm from expansion to drive bay frame while card is only 280mm. Means we have 10mm spare in the case between the end of the card and the bays. Am I missing something. I really like the K60 so hoping you just made a mistake..

Initially couldn't find the dimensions of the HD5XXX series on ATI/AMD's site but good to know it's 280.

Edit:Cage can be rotated 90 degrees anyway looking at the manual but lets ignore that for now as I don't think it matters since width wise even without rotating it seems to be enough.

Anyone expecting massive driver improvements will be dissapointed.

The architecture is just like the last one with a few tweak for DX11.

Thats why it works so well and stable and reviewers had no issues with CF or bugs or crashes.

They aren't going to get much faster than now...

Hmmm it appears I'll buy a 5870 when it drops to around $450.

That seems more like a reasonable conversion rate from $399 USD

No specific ETA but a couple of months (1-2).

Ah, sorry. Sarcasm is hard to differentiate from fanboism in these forums.

Unless you use dx11 paths, then 38% speed increase is doable.
battleforge for example.
The cards are fast enuff, look forward a 5850, changed my mind as the numbers are so good.

Gigabyte/Palit/Inno3d, usually 2 weeks.
Asus, around 3 - 6 weeks.

We strive to do it as soon as possible, sometimes it is just out of our control.

Not for the hardware I'm posting on OCAU, the hardware I've posted we have coming in stock (which cheaper stores don't) and are cheaper than anywhere else in the country at the moment. For other hardware, yes we're more expensive, but if anyone from OCAU wants hardware and isn't happy with the pricing, let me know and I'll see what I can do for you (this applies to everyone!)
Thanks for the reply Anthony. That is what Scorptec does too in regards to the full length of warranty, but they are in Victoria and I'm in WA, so I think I will keep an eye on your prices and if they are competitive when I'm ready to order I think I'll try you guys out. I am actually willing to pay a little bit more for an item if you do the full warranty term like Scorptec does. When you put in the OCAU discounts at Scorptec their prices are usually better and I'm willing to pay a bit extra for the extra service. I'm thinking postage should be cheaper to WA so that would give you the nod over Scorptec for me.

Does your website have a postage calculator at all?

actually... it may just work... sorry i was thinking of HD48XX cards and needing room for the pcie connectors on the end of the card... the HD58XX cards have them on the side... so you should be ok! sorry for the confusion!!!

please read the screencap showing "Hemlock" as the device name... this is ATI's codename for the HD5870x2

could it be that Hemlock is in fact a HD5850x2?

Maybe they're only able to get two of these chips together in lower shader numbers? Similar to a gtx295 but the other way around vis a vis memory bus and shader count. Does Hemlock have a shader count released?

Asus soft volt raising core on 5870 to 1030mhz! mem to 5200 effective!
now, i may have misread something, but this article seems to imply that the overclocking limit for memory and clocks are the same for both the 5850 and 5870.
am i reading into this too much, or is it indicating that perhaps people should at least wait a few more days until some 5850 reviews surface before they commit to the 5870's? i made the same mistake when i bought a 285 mere days before the 275 came out, its a hard lesson to learn.
