Depends on the game. I have a Russian key of Dark Souls, and it works fine. However, I have a Russian copy of RAGE and it won't play unless I start it in a VPN.

Wait until it releases and see what the deal is. However, like RAGE which once did work without having to use a VPN, they can change the region status of Russian keys at any time to restrict those outside of the region.

On topic however - I just bought Borderlands 2 from GMG using the 25% off Labor Day code for $37. That, combined with picking up the season pass for $15.95 = why PC gaming rocks.

It's usually not worth it either, with RU versions, if you give it a few months the game will probably sell for a tenner, yet you'll be stuck with the shitty version.

I did happen to get MW3 English for $15-$20 somewhere not too long ago, not sure what it was (pretty sure it was posted here) but it wasn't RU

It's worth it if the game doesn't make you do language fixes and all that. I bought a Russian MW2 key and had to screw around with the language files every time a patch came through.

Depends on the game.

Steam has 2 types of locking - activation (vpn just to activate) and region (vpn to activate and launch). If buying from steam, the RU version of BL2 currently has both. We'll have to wait to see about retail (which i think yuplay will have), but chances are it'll be locked if the steam bought ver is.
