Default AktiMate mini vs Audioengine 5

Hi everyone, can someone please help me because I am really having a hard time to decide which one should I buy.
My main purpose is for games and listen to music.

These are the reviews that i found is usefull i guess ~

http://magazine.playbackmag.net/play...web/?folio=237
http://magazine.playbackmag.net/play...web/?folio=231
http://magazine.playbackmag.net/play...2web/?folio=98

As the result shows, razer mako2.1 has the best overall score out of all three speakers, therefore which one should i buy for gaming purpose?

They are all about the same cost and here are the research i have done :

Both sets are more for music. The soundstage of the Aktimate's is a little better from what I've seen, although I've yet to compare the two.

tbh, if your a person that needs a sub, for 2 ch audio, then the mako would probably more suit you.

i cant imagine computer speakers blowing the audioengines/aktimates out of the water in terms on SQ.

gaming and movies, i think the extra .1 is always nice tho. the extra .1 for the a5's or minis wont come cheaply.

I own the Aktimates and can't fault them, great sounding speakers.

I've been trying to make this decision over the last couple of days as well. I couldn't find a direct listening comparison anywhere on the internet.

I went for the Aktimates in the end, mainly because it's Australian. I was tempted to go for the audioengines because i think they are the safer choice - they've been out for a while now and i haven't really seen anything negative said about them said yet.

Anyway, i'm eagerly waiting for my Aktimates to arrive.

iPodDock is the cheapest, pick up in Hallam so it cuts postage costs down.

i put a best offer of $400 to the seller that devilpop has linked to...and he accepted it. Postage is exhorbitant at $40 though, so total came to $440. Haven't received my speakers yet.

Great price.
The A5s were $450 during Vistra Australia's recent, albeit expired promotion.
