Yeah and the fact they are really concentrating on the multiplayer portion of the game because that is where the longevity in game sales is.

So single player will be maybe 15 hours long or at the very least short.
A lot of gaming companys are envious of the cash COD and BF games bring in but Crysis will never be as good multiplayer nor is it meant to be.

what i dont get is why us pc users have to pay cause of piracy..i admit there is a select crowd that does download such content ... but you have xbox ... ps3...wii also capable of using pirated games .. my mate got a usb stick for his ps3 and he just plugs it in... and inserts a downloaded iso and whala instant pirate.... saddens me thinking we spend thousands on getting our computers up and running and games are eventually geared towards consoles...

sad sad sad

15 hours for an FPS game isn't short.

15 hours is nice. Glad they didn't go for a 5 hour game which seems to be a growing trend.

I hope you guys realize that all this "It's UNFINISHED it's INCOMPLETE it's a BETA it's NOT THE FINAL VERSION" rubbish is all damage control.

I'm sure they're frantically emailing every gaming publication with those capitalized words, too.

The single player is a final build. Retail version.

pretty sure you don't have to install it. Just go to crysis2(5620)_01_13\Bin64\Crysis2.exe

if your whole .iso is corrupt and you don't want to download it again PM me. i'm on the central coast as well.

That was a guess but an optomistic one I expect more 10 hours then padding from cut screens maybe 11/12.

How to stop the game from crashing upon loading after running it once:
1. Open system.cfg in the game folder (with notepad)
2. Modify these lines to look like this:
Code:
Quote:
r_ShaderCompilerServer=127.0.0.1;127.0.0.1
r_ShadersRemoteCompiler=0
How to play Multiplayer
1. Open system.cfg in the game folder (with notepad)
2. Add these lines at the end:
Code:
Quote:
g_enableInitialLoginScreen = 0 ; disable login screen at game startup
g_gamespy_loginUI = 0 ; disable multiplayer login screen
net_lanbrowser = 1 ; find LAN (local) matches instead of internet matches in multiplayer serverbrowser
net_initLobbyServiceToLan = 1 ; make LAN (local) lobbies instead of internet lobbies in multiplayer
3. Set up an Hamachi server or join an existing one.
4. Open the game, go into multiplayer and create a server, wait for everyone to join and play!
5. If you're joining instead of hosting, find out in the chat who is hosting, check their Hamachi IP
6. Bring up the console in-game (should be the \ , ¬ or ~ key depending on your keyboard and language settings)
7. Type "connect <host ip>" where <host ip> is the Hamachi IP of the host. Press Enter and enjoy!
NOTE: After the round is over the host has to turn off the server and create a new one or else nobody can join.

Play in 32-bit mode ffs the 64-bit is glitched as hell.

g_skipIntro = 1
no cutscene

also:
con_restricted = 0
r_ShaderCompilerServer=192.168.14.180;192.168.14.1 81
r_ShadersRemoteCompiler=0 ; mentioned before, causes shaders to be compiled locally
log_IncludeTime = 0
sys_languages = "english,french,spanish,german,turkish"
r_displayInfo = 0 ; disable info at top right corner of screen
g_enableInitialLoginScreen = 0 ; disable login screen at game startup
g_gamespy_loginUI = 0 ; disable multiplayer login screen
net_lanbrowser = 1 ; find LAN (local) matches instead of internet matches in multiplayer serverbrowser
net_initLobbyServiceToLan = 1 ; make LAN (local) lobbies instead of internet lobbies in multiplayer
s_SpeakerConfig = 2 ; stereo speaker configuration, if your sound is weird (like quiet voices)
cl_fov = 90
i_mouse_smooth = 30 ; disable mouse smoothing, apparently 0 doesn't disable it, but 30 does
g_dlcPurchaseOverwrite = 1 ; "Cheat to unlock DLC content on PC without purchase" -Crytek
g_ignoreDLCRequirements = 1 ; shows servers in browser that run DLC you don't have
g_presaleUnlock = 0 ; 1 unlocks presale content without voucher

So from what I've read so far, the game is consolised to all hell and back, the levels are linear and non-destructible, the weapon FOV takes up half the screen like all console games, and anytime something moves on the screen it becomes blur city?

If you go by the beta it definately is.

The image is blurry and suffers from some extremely lowres textures. The draw distance is poor, the trees for example are no longer destructable and some of the foliage looks deadset dreadful.

It just does not have the sharpness or crispness the original Crysis has. Instead it has all the visual hallmarks of a classic console port.

Deep down i was hoping it would not happen but in reality i always knew it would...

i reckon if it wasn't consolised it would'v been a pretty darn good game. It has none of the wow factor crysis had graphically now though. Pretty much everything i said about it when it was first announced has come true.

Be nice if they would hurry up and release a demo for PC though.

I think the sadest thing though is that it appears to be based 100% in the city.
