It's not something you want to have turned on for gaming, when it finds dodgey packets it skips (drops) them instead of trying to resolve them, great for phone calls and streaming music/video, Not good for shooting guys in the head with rifles in a multiplayer game.

That said, I have QoS enabled and it doesn't give me any issues (playing over cat5e on a gigabit router, everything media based streaming at home is done over wireless N)

My due to the fact you are talking about the el cheap and pointless qos your router does.

The original post said turning of "QoS" on the network card (i.e disabling ECN) fixes the issue.
