im currently saving for a major PC upgrade just for BF3,

1x Dell 30" 2011 model
3x GTX580
3x GTX580 waterblocks (Ek)
1x Corsair 1200w PSU
1x 240GB SSD for games
2x 2TB more HDD

nearly $5000 dollar upgrade yiewwwwww

might consider getting a new CPU & M/B too but i think the i7 950 & EVGA Classified 759 should hold up pretty well

i dont think it will help much when I go to uni lols

From playing a lot of BC2 and other FPS, and owning a 120hz monitor and a U2711 I think you will be better off with a 120hz monitor for your gaming rig. 30" Dell is nice but 120hz destroys it in FPS. Other than that nice rig, GTX580's are solid performers and Tri is brilliant.

ive got the previous Dell 30" monitor I dont really know the Hz it runs at but if the newer 30" model is anything like the ive got atm it should be fine

the only complaint I have with the one I have atm is when watching Blu-rays on my PS3 the image kinda lags in the middle, im not sure how to describe it but its like cutting a photo in the middle, line it up again & every so often shift each side up & down

Fair enough, if you are happy with 60hz stick with it imo.

I'll clarify, in the trailer I saw, tanks were crushing cars, LMG's would cut cover to shreds, and none of that was really in the game...

I like BF2, and the multiplayer is supreme, all I'm saying is I hope BF3 is as awesome as the trailer makes it look...

Are you talking about BF2 (Battlefield 2) or BC2 (Bad Company 2) compared to BF3? (Battlefield 3)??

Yeah DICE are usually pretty good with trailers. Both BF2 and BFBC2 trailers were pretty spot on in terms of what you could achieve in game.

Edit:

From the opening park, you need to push underground through a dark, bombed-out metro tunnel section, and then up and out onto the downtown city streets for the final confrontation in front of the Paris stock exchange. This seamless transition in the map between contrasting areas is something that makes it feel like so much more than your typical walled-in multiplayer arena. For a sense of scale, each of the different areas in Operation Métro would be large enough to house a very good Team Deathmatch experience.
