Eh, quit with the negativity. Only one way to find out which way this is going.

I do wonder how it'll fit with BC2 coming.

I presume BC2 will continue BC's push towards smaller close quarters, high intensity maps with 24-32 players max, and BF3 will be more of a classic BF game with 64 (probably 128 max) player massive maps.

If thats the case, I actually see BC2 being the better game for me, I wouldn't be the only one who had a ton more fun with BC on the consoles than I ever did with BF2 on the PC.

If EA didn't force you to play on US hosted servers in BC then I would have like it a whole lot more. I could only stand to play about 5 hours of MP as the lag got to me, but I really liked what I did play.

There's only the Swedish DICE now, you may be thinking of the New York DICE which became Kaos Studios and I think they worked on BF2142.

Or perhaps you're confusing it with Activision and the Call of Duty series where Treyarch release the shitty Call of Duty versions and Infinity Ward release the good ones.

exactly

and why the hell are they announcing it before they've even released 1943? pretty poor imo, it's like they dont even care about 1943 :/

they have their pros and cons
treyarch: awesome ideas/features (co-op, nazis, innovating the multiplayer at least a bit, collectable unlockableness for awesome modifiers.)
con: shitt master server needed for multpiplayer rage
IW: better story/SP gameplay... creating the bulk of the original awesome ideas... i guess?.

World at war was a mighty fine game imo. not the same final quality as MW, but fine multiplayer nonetheless.

1943 is a 3 map, 3 class demo of the frostbite engine. It's not a full game so it shouldn't be treated as such. BC2 and BF3 will be the real "games" for this engine.

I have high hopes, should be fun none the less. The rego of BF2 isn't TOO bad once you get used to it. Plus you can blame all your deaths on terrible rego so you feel a little better

KAOS were originally Trauma Studios of Desert Combat fame, some went on to work on BF2 itself for DICE, then they formed their own studio and released Frontlines.

Their second game HomeFront will prob be on a similar release schedule to BF3 at a guess.

Who just happens to be EA's Chief Operating Officer, and it will be EA who would be publishing the game.

By the way guys, BF3 isn't slated for this year. At earliest it's Q2 next year.

Edit: Misread the quote. Yeah, this game hasn't been officially announced yet and probably won't be for a long time.

i hope they finish the game before releasing it

Bring it.

So long as there aren't game breaking bugs in there like C4 throwing and nade spam then I am willing to stomach a few bugs here and there.

Every online game has bugs - time to get over the fact.
