It's amazing how fast games can fall from glory if something else better comes along to take peoples attention.

I personally believe that COD only has a couple of years left. What are they going to do with the story to keep people interested? Future Warfare? Maybe... that would probably go down well. Modern Warfare 3? People are going to get bored of that right? Modern Warfare games are becoming the new WWII games. And as far as I know they're STILL using the same fkn engine that is pooping out turd graphics for this day and age.

I pooped my pants when I first played multi BC2 at 2560x1440 with 8xMSAA for the first time.

Look at how quickly Guitar Hero has been milked and disappeared. Albiet, it was never as popular as COD so the death won't be that fast, or as drastic but it's going to happen. Bet your bottom dollar. I know so many people who loved MW2 and bought Black Ops day 1 and hate it and are moving to BF.

If BF can help to capture the people who want SP as well as MP then they're in for a chance for competing side by side with COD.

Hell - Medal of Honor did extremely well and that was relatively a piece of turd.

I dont think they really mind at the moment; they're just milking it for all it's worth and the profits are there so they'll keep going. I don't really care if the engine is the same; what matters more is that the actual game/play itself it the same shit over and over again and anyone with an inkling of decency would try and deviate from the old.

That's part of the problem with the engine being the same... because the engine is the same as the one used on COD2, it's only capable of so much.

And if you look carefully, the game design has not really changed all that much since COD2. Yes, they've updated the graphics, and allowed you to shoot through some materials and they've added to the constraints of the scripted events, but essentially its the same, same AI, same shoot enemies as you push forward boring game play etc.

That's the engine's fault. That's why I'm so excited for BF3 because Frostbite 2.0 looks incredible.

Yep, it looks to be based on a real event. A sniper had some marines in iraq pinned down on a roof, and they used an AT4 to take him out. it was in the documentary 'shootout'
took what you said into account and tried finding it lol i think this is it
mind you the audio isnt synced

I dont really think it's the engine's fault. There's plenty of creative things you can do with a pretty well developed engine. Looks has nothing to do with creative ability; Destructible environments can only do so much. If you asked them to remake Deus Ex on it i bet they could; and that's by and large a far better game.

LOL, that's the one :3

I thought of it back when I saw the teaser trailer weeks ago and saw the marines pinned down on a roof with an AT4.

hmm i know it's a game but it's a little discerning when the soldiers are up against the low wall and all their heads clearly visible above cover and the sniper can't hit them

would you really engage a sniper by going onto a rooftop with next to no cover ?

The video was fucking retarded. From the position the sniper actually was, he wouldn't have even been able to see, let alone hit, half of the places the bullets ricocheted off earlier in the vid.

Looks about the same (shit) quality as BC2's singleplayer. Fortunately... I'm not looking forward to bf3 for SP :P

Maybe there were multiple and as they were celebrating blowing them up they all got smashed in the head by snipers behind them.

Well for starters you cant actually see where he is exactly but i understand youre talking about the general direction. Looks to me like the bullets are flying in between the gaps the guys are running in between. Not sure what you are missing?

Fark, who gives a shit where the sniper was. The point of the video was to show movement, cover, going prone and being under fire.

The sniper was just a bit of footage to link all that together. What we got out of it was buildings can be broken to an extent and it looks pretty farking cool when you do it.
