Short summary of yesterday's patch:

* Made joining servers take even longer
* Made "BF3.exe has stopped working" message hide in the background so you don't know that it crashed
* Still can't remember loadout, camo, gameplay or video options correctly
* Mobile AA is now an anti-infantry weapon
* SMAW/RPG reclassified as anti-infantry weapons
* Right clicking the Origin icon buries the exit option under the taskbar
* Attack helicopters now have anti-infantry rockets
* Jet main cannon reclassified as anti-infantry
* Stinger missiles are now made of styrofoam
* 50 cal mounted guns now shoot rubber anti-vehicle bullets
* Tactical lights remain unchanged, still more powerful than the sun
* Game now crashes more often for no apparent reason

I had to restart origin before it would update.

I consider myself a pretty tolerant guy. But f**k me. BF3 was working ok before this patch. Now I am struggling to log into any server...

You know, just for once, I'd like the game to save my fkn sound/video settings and solider camo.

Useless shit game

Websites around the Internet are reporting that Dice released a patch for BF3 yesterday, end user reports show some issues.

In other news, Dice has changed its corporate motto to "hey it compiles! Lets ship it!"

Ok so the EOD bot fix is basically just removing ALL points you get for repairing and supporting your team mates vehicles??

I ran out into a tank battle to fix a team mates tank so he was victorious and didn't get a single point for it!!!

I won't be risking my life doing that again if there is nothing in it for me... I'll just keep watching out for my own...

What a FAIL of a fix.... Surely they could have just made the EOD bot a zero point repair???

Ok That patch was one hell of a cluster ****.
I ran the game flawlessly before the patch. But wowwee now its like a lame dog.
Firstly it took forever to get the game started, kept getting a stupid "bf3 has stopped working windows will inform IF!!!??? there is a solution.
I figured out after a while instead of actually clicking on the bf3 icon like I use to be able to do in order to get into the game. I had to Alt tab and then tab across into the bf3 luacher. This bypassed the windows error.

After I got into a MP match it would then proceed to freeze then crash.
So I though hell, Lets see if campaign works and I'll work around a fix. Camp would even lunach at all no matter what I bloody did.

My mate tells me to repair the game. Bloody origin hides the update menu in the worst UI ever. You have to literally go to the game right click hold it down to get to a menu... Really who the hell thought that was a good idea...

Anyway you can repair the game there and most of my mates got it runing smoothly after that fix. Me however not the case. I still had to Alt tab to luanch games otherwise that stupid error kept popping up. I had to manually join a dozen servers to load the maps into cache in order for it not to crash. (seems to work now).

Now this is the part thats really annoyig the hell out of me. In order to get a stable game (no ingame disconnects/ crashes) I had to pull down my setting from Ultra to High. I mean WTF, I have a 6990, I should not be having performance issues running at Ultra. MOST if not all my mates who are running high end cards are reportig the same thing. Reduce your settings game becomes stable. (console port anyone?)

On a side note the game lags as if I'm latency capped its really annoying because I've ever had latency issues (bigpond ultimate cable).

Anyway Rant over, Its rather unacceptable to have to trouble shoot for 3 hours for a bloody patch. I feel NERF'd. Blah!

FYI there should be no reason why my rig should be struggling at all.

Sounds like BF2 all over again, release a patch, to fix a problem, fixes problem but creates 50+ other issues, roll back repatch, patch again... and then again..

I was still getting points for repairing tanks last night. You must be doing something wrong.

Was the driver in the tank when you were repairing it? or was he out repairing it with you?
