Connecting PS3 to wmp wired

Hi all,
I have my ps3 conected via a wired conection, so both my ps3 and my pc use a ethernet switch, but they cant see each other, iv allowed media sharing.
Not sure what to do, anyone know?

What O/S are you using might be a help..

Have you checked that discovery is on.

Firstly you're hooked up via a wired cat5/6 cable im assuming for your pc.
goto Control panel. In normal mode for me. I go to set up file sharing under network. Otherwise get to the Network and Sharing Centre

Network Discovery for my Lan is On
File Sharing is On
Media Sharing is On

Other than that check your firewall. in all cases maybe disable this, to see if it makes a difference

Futher that.. if you're running a antivirus/internet security also disable this to check to see if thats blocking ports.

Iv done everything you said execpt i cant find the option for "network discovery for my lan" iv only seem to find wireless options..
thanks for the help sorry i didnt reply earlyer, i was away for the week.
