The 2.1 update that was released was for Sprint's CDMA Hero. No luck for GSM Hero owners

We've had probably the longest wait for an Android update in the history of ever.

anyone have any feedback or experience with faster access flash cards?

The mp3 player really suffers from it. and anyone else notice that when you jump back to main menu it ALWAYS selects artists by default?

it shits me that it defaults to artist instead of album, especially on CD's like ministry of sound where theres a shitload of different artists,..

Depends on whether you want a stable ROM without 2.1, or a less stable ROM with 2.1. I'm running Modaco's Custom ROM 3.2 (MCR 3.2), which is a 1.5 custom ROM, but is really really fast and stable

(Actually, mine's a custom custom ROM,

) On the 2.1 front, I hear VillainRom is the way to go.

Does anyone suffer from problems when downloading MMS's?

Sometimes, I have to zip back to home screen, disable 3G. Open the message, click download, it fires up 3G and my counter, grabs the message no dramas.

80% of the time tho, if I have 3G on before the message downloads, she won't come through.

Very annoying.

there's an official 2.1 rom for Sprint Hero (like finally, but the news was overshadowed by 2.2). Maybe look out for different variants of that in the coming weeks.

my phone came with villianrom 5.5, everything works. you jut have to load APN settings in the beginning to get 3G working as ROMs are american(?).

has sense, all the jazz, market, looks great. smooth motions, with memory managament - makes the phone not annoyingly slow, but handscent takes forever to open, and still have some lag when typing with haptic, and mp3 player isn't the best, but it will do.

don't think so, Sprint's Hero is a CDMA version of the GSM hero.

best to wait and see if anyone is porting that to the original Hero.

ah k... didn't know sprint was cdma... can imagine a disaster if i flashed to that....

Launcher Pro seems ok as well, but ADW appears to be much more customisable.

All on market, free.

Load up VillianRom 6+, Villain Super Hero etc Much faster, no lag here either.
