Default Adjusting cpu scaling on 9.04

Hey peeps

When i startup my lappy it defaults to performance profile so the cpu is up at 100% which is fine when i am on mains but i use my lappy alot on battery only.

Can anyone help me in finding out how to change the default startup profile to the 'ondemand' profile

cheers in advance

Stef

no help i'm afraid. I have the cpu frequency selector on my top bar....the problem is i want it to default on startup to the on demand profile, whereas it currently defaults to the performance profile

Probably not the best solution but you could try
Quote:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure gnome-applets
and select cpufreq with SUID root.

It should remember what you set it on last time. It will sit on high for a bit after a start / restart (i've notice that) but it then always settles when using on-demand. You are saying it doesn't remember or doesn't settle?

Awesome - thanks for that, I have to set to performance manually after booting because it sometimes drops back in speed even when folding.
