^^ On the MW2 opening movie, I never understood why the second Timberwolf (Alpha Assault?) didn't use his PPCs on the Summoner after running out of machine gun ammo. Otherwise, great move, great game. I still have it installed on my main PC here

mebbe coz standard issue timber wolves did not carry PPCs.
they had machine guns, LRMs, and pulse lasers. and even if this version did have ppcs (always wondered what they used, as it should have had it) the ammount of heat the bastards generated would have basically locked out that weapon from use again so quickly.. - especially since the first volley was a linked attack. man i played this too much

heh.. too true..
nothing beats a game in big mechs, first person / cockpit view... blowing shit up... however, there has been no game that has lived up to MW2... pre-merc... the clan wars were just win.. inner sphere FTL.

If it's true, if it's on PC (which I for some reason think it'll be on xbox or something annoying like that), I can foresee the NBT league kicking off again...
Dear lord, I'd probably play it again

As long as I can fully customise my mech I don't mind, no 90% predetermined layouts to dumb it down...but fat chance of that with the console market to milk.
I've always dreamed of a true Mechwarrior game where you were part of a up and coming clan. You'd have a base of operations, a salvage team, an engineering team and a research team. You'd upgrade all of them to allow you access to better stuff but couldn't upgrade them all. e.g. A level 1 base could only hold a combined maximum of 50 tonnes with x number of parts, level 2 would be 60 tonnes etc An inexperience salvage team could only recover x items and could damage them removing them from wrecks, an experienced team could get more, recognise better parts and not damage them removing them. Engineering team would be about fixing parts, repairing mechs, etc Eventually you'd get to have a dropship, aerospace fighters, go interplanetary... If only my gaming wishes could come true

Also, it needs TrackIR support.

There is one thing I've always wanted to see in MW games. Elementals suits. Even if MW5 doesn't have it, I'd settle for a Timber Wolf with ER-PPCs and LRMs.

I just fired up MW2 (it's been a few months) and played a mission or two with my (recently OCAU F/S forum-purchased) Logitech Wingman. No rumble, of course, but the analogue sticks worked!
T'was great

Re-installing Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries as I type this.
If this MW5 is real I'm going to jizz.

I still reckon MW2's soundtrack was one of the best for a game ever
The tribal feel of it all!

The 3rd video has a Jenner in it basically confirming its a new Mechwarrior game! ![]() Lets just hope its a true Mechwarrior, if it is and as long as the PC version is released with mod tools they will be able to fix up any game that is released into something awesome
