Yeah I was never really sold on the QD mounts, but saw John @ 8541 Tacticals review of the Bobro mount.
He previously did a similar test (but not as in depth) of the ADM Recon mount which I bought, and results weren't quite as spectacular as with the Bobro (but still pretty impressive), but apparently they've made a few changes to the manufacturing process which tightened up the tolerances a bit. As for the rail, I came to a similar conclusion. As much as everyone seems to have good results with some of the more affordable alternatives, I figured Id buy once, cry once, and never have to think about it again. |

The best one i heard of was the US NightForce rep showing off how durable the scopes are.
Got the shooter (US military im told) to fire a 3 shot group. Took the scope off, THREW IT IN THE AIR, went and picked it up, twisted the turrets around a few times, returned to the zerostop, and said "ok, now shoot another 3 shot group thru the same holes". And he did. He repeated this with 10 shooters in one day, with the SAME scope. Each nightforce scope is individually tested. It is smashed against a solid stand and the zero stop, cross hair drift, focus, everything is testing and re-tested to make sure it is perfect. How do i know this ? I made the stand that they beat the scopes on and i have personally seen them test the scopes. Worked with NF guys quite closely for a bit.

that was a fairly serious and impressive set of tests.
Only thing i wish they showed was the actual targets as they were being shot. But still, its a VERY interesting video.

Roll it up into a cone shaped roll. Insert, push thru. Its a cheats way of doing it. It will bunch up as its pushed and will get much of the gunk out.
Hope this works for you.

![]() 3d printed AR lower. Theres also an AR15 magazine print (with spring !) if you know where to look. Few more pieces (upper, foregrip, adjustable stock, few other tiny things) and you should be fairly complete. All you really want as metal is barrel, bolt and trigger group assy, barrel nut and gas return system. It would only fire... 10 shots ? Before you have to wait for it to cool down and not melt. The point is, this shit is getting REAL easy to get now. For the "hardcore" home handyman. Pity i dont have a 3d printer

I've seen a few homemade plastic lower receivers (even one made from pine) recently, and I think one company actually markets a one piece ABS receiver. The upper half is the hard part though, and I don't think anyone's had any success with a plastic one. It does raise a few interesting points though, and with the strength of today's polymers, and the ease of machining, just about anything is buildable in a home workshop. I remember reading a couple of years ago about suppressed Owen guns being made in Melbourne by an underground machinist.

Picked up a 91/30 Mosin Nagant last week, took 2 cleans just to get all the cosmoline out of it... And at the shot show last week picked up a vortex diamond back 3-9x scope, pretty nice piece of kit....Also just picked up my Vortex Viper PST MRAD scope this morning, its a little dramatic on the 452 lol....

Good stuff. Did you go the 6-24 or the 4-16?
Looks like getting a good cheek weld might be a bit rough on the CZ? |
