i was about to say "apparently enough to warrant spending bulk money on a case annealer"
Im going out for a bit tomorrow.. And because of this, i prepose a challenge to anyone else. Once we all work out the details, it can go live. RULES: All guns must be .22 rim fire. You have the choice on ammo. 22MWR, 22LR, 22short, whatever, long as its 22 rim fire and nothing else. No time limit. 3 Categories for this competition. Iron sight, 4x optics and unlimited optics. So break out the 32x and put it on your rifle for all i care. 50 yards or 46 meters distance. You must shoot 3 groupings of 5 shots on the one page. Get your average grouping on each target, and average it out. It MUST all be on the one piece of paper. So thats 15 shots on the one sheet. There is a 2 week limit, and if you submit a sheet, and you shoot a better one the next day, it is VALID. But please dont flood thread with 15 sheets. Best hold off until the last week. TARGETS: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/85779550/Pr...0024703613.pdf for the print out version. Taken from http://www.printtargets.net/, you CAN design / print your own target if you wish. This is just template. I personally use 3x3 grid and have 9 targets on the one page. Accuracy to bullseye DOES NOT COUNT. Long as the groupings are on the target and can be accurately measured, its all OK. Submitted scores MUST be a "high resolution" photo or scan. Cropping is allowed, but the whole page MUST be shown to prove its one piece. So maybe 1 smaller "whole page" pic, and 3 seperate "zoomed in" pics to verify grouping size. Whats everyone think ? No prizes other than praise. Anything i miss ? ----- EDIT ----- Not sure if this should be a rule or not. Once the competition is over, should we reveal what ammo / gun / setup we used ? Or post it with the results before comp end ? Doesnt really matter, but would be interesting to see what people use.

I'm planning on taking a day off soon to do some load dev for the APRS and Steyr once I have them in my hands so if I can find the time and inclination to take the CZ as well, I'd be in.
You left out one thing though - shooting position. Off hand, bench prone? Bradzac, that's one way to get started |

OK. Someone with "on target" needs to do some measuring.
I was at the range today, thus i said about the comp last night. @apsilon Bench with bipod + bags is fine. We sohuld do a off-hand comp next, at like 25 yards, and 15 yards for pistols. Anyway, heres a group i shot today. left is winchester power point 42gr MAX, right is winchester 42gr MAX subsonic. (i had to adjust elevation obviously, had about 1.5" drop.) I cant measure my groups because ON TARGET is being gay on linux.. Not reading the image file properly. Little help please ![]() setup: Click to view full size! range: Click to view full size! Results: Click to view full size! 5mb image HERE

Id like to make a correction. Got out the digital verniers. 7.00mm diameter of the black part, the red centre is 6mm but the line is 0.5mm thick.
ALso, i cleaned my gun fully before firing. Fired the first 5 shots, 1 quick patch, 2nd group, then patch, and fired 3rd group. No other patching was done throughout the day. How interesting my worst groups were the first of the day on a clean barrel. Incidently, the subs are freakin dirty. Like, INSANELY dirty.

wonder if i could actually pull that off.. a sub 1moa group at 100yards range.
im thinking the 22 would drop off a bit and start to fly around at double the distance. What ya think ?

I semi regularly shoot my .22 at 100m. I don't think it's impossible but I do think it'd be very difficult. Calm day, ammo that your rifle likes, good optic and I think it could be done.

picked up a 7615p on saturday, damn i love it, went to the range with my mosin and the 7615p. Pretty accurate... just expensive cos its so quick getting bullets downrange... ordered the warhammer tri rail forend for it on sunday. Im going to hawaii in november so hope to pick up some parts for it cheap like a magpul pisol grip and m4 stock etc.
not looking forward to trying to get more mags for it for a ok price...wonder if i could bring some back with me..

Oh lawdy. Cant say Im a fan of the mall ninja 7600/15 look... and I like "tacticool" stuff haha. Im not sure why everyone is so keen on having a bolt action rifle that looks like a semi...
Having said that, I wouldnt mind a tastefully modified 7600. Saw one with a nice walnut stock etc, looks pretty tasty. |
