Modern Warfare 2 map packs hitting Xbox Live first

Quote:
Modern Warfare 2 has officially joined the somewhat exclusive Microsoft DLC club. Infinity Ward's relentless first-person shooter will offer downloadable map packs (duh!), the first two of which will launch first on Xbox Live. The news came via Microsoft's E3 press, where Microsoft's John Schappert was keen to emphasize that the Xbox 360 version would lead the way in Modern Warfare 2's online component.

Modern Warfare 2's Prestige Edition includes night vision goggles

Quote:
Now this is how you do a special edition. Activision and Infinity Ward look to be going all out for its Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 "Prestige Edition," with not only the usual accoutrements like a special casing and an art book, but also what is described by Community Manager Robert "fourzerotwo" Bowling as a "fully functioning NVGs -- night vision goggles." No idea how well they work, but it's got alternating modes and MW2 branding. That's pretty awesome, but we gotta imagine it's gonna demand a pretty penny -- this is definitely more than that $80 "collector's edition" for $80 GameStop is currently listing. You won't be able to get your actual hands on the game until November at the earliest, so in the meantime, hit up the read link to get a glimpse of the "official" unboxing.

I can tell you that pretty much every GAME around the country has already sold out. Dunno what EB's stock levels are like, but I'd say they are all gone too by now.

I got mine, now I can use night vision when i go to the toilet in the middle of the night...

I preordered last week from EB at penrith. The 2 behind the counter didn't seem to know how to look up how many stock they were being allocated. I hope it's not gonna be a case of 1 week before release, "Oh hey d3ltr33, we ran out. Soz"

Call of Duty just DOMINATE the FPS category and rightfully so!

Nobody else comes close to the quality of there games... I just cant get over how well balanced they are with regards to graphics, gameplay, storyline, multiplayer, sound, longevity, etc etc

I prefer the ww2 ones though im still looking forward to this!

I'll be busy playing Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising me thinks. COD games are just wayyy to linear. I'll prob get it for the cinematic experience, but its usually a place once then shelve it.
