Hey all, just another post to say that I'm having the same issue everyone else is with the twin GIGABYTE GTX 275s I bought on Friday. No signal on post/initialization of Vista and it's happening more often than not (especially on reset). Going to see if MSY will take the cards back...

Hi everyone, I might be away from next week due to personal reason but I have setup a short-team corresponding contact person’s detail so everyone could still reach us during my absent for their modification to be arrange.

Remark on the modification this process must be done by our engineering otherwise warranty period would be invalid and pls ensure there are not physical damages RA dept would also reject if there is any physical damage.

Problem: PSU unit would not properly power it up to display therefore few repeat of restarts would warm it up and up on running again.

The modification:
adding 1pcs Resistors & IC, to ensure receive stable/balancing voltage and current from PSU unit to POST display.

Gloria.chou@gigabyte.com.au and CC a copy to william.kao@gigabyte.com.au
It’s return to base conditions so she will reply a RA number afterwards for where to return,
1. This RA number must be printed outside the box
2. Make sure your return address & contact details also.
3. Pls packed your components in a bigger box in case of any damages during transit.
Return freight charge would be count on us

Estimate time on mod and return: count from the date when components arrived
Within Melbourne & Sydney 2~3 business working days
Interstate 3~5 business working days

Unfortunately I don't live within easy travelling distance of MSY and they aren't responding to my phonecalls/emails so I might be out of luck. The next time I can get down there will be after the 7 day return period has elapsed.

I've just sent off an email to William and Gloria to have Gigabyte repair the cards.

ive had a similar problem, but it has carried across from numerous different cards, different OS's, different drivers (both ATI and NVIDIA)
and nothing seems to fix it.

I have a V2400W, and some dvi-d cable i bought off ebay. When the cmputers been off for a few hours, when i go to turn it back on the screen remains in standby. i have to manually turn off the screen and turn it back on again to get a signal.

but if i just reboot, it picks up the signal fine.
once it gets the signal its rock solid.
any ideas?

Hey would this void your warranty?

And how will we prove to Gigabyte when our card is modded by one of you?

Also, what are the disadvantages of the modification?

they are gigabyte m8. gloria and william both work in the australia gigabyte ra centre in melbourne. by submitting the card to them you are getting a 100% gigabyte certified / approved / and carried out by gigabyte solution. as far as william explained to me: my standard warranty is not affected at all.

imho the fault is clearly a manufacturing / design issue and gigabyte have come up with a solution. it is your right to exercise this option or not.

i think we can all agree that its pretty piss poor of a manufacturer selling a $300 product that has a design fault but i have to say that i have been very impressed with williams response personally. so that would be a "bad gigabyte! no!" and a "hooah" for the ra centre.

Had my card returned eariler this week. Been more than happy with William K and his service.

The card seems to be problem free now. Will display post consistently. Kudos to the RA center guys. VERY quick indeed.

I say if you did a regular RA though a retailer, you will still get a unmodified and possibly problematic card back. Not to mention the 3+ week RA period. The 1 week ETA from the center is actually really fast.

If any of you guys who cant get the card returned, give the RA center a contact.

Is there a office in Sydney? Or do I have to post the thing to Melbourne?

I called my retailer today, apparently RMA items have been replaced with new Gigabyte cards from the distributor. LOL, back to where I started from.

I will go and pick them up today and plug them in to test.
Also I will pull my case apart to do the tri-SLI test that I never got around to.

Then if they still have issues, send them to Gigabyte RA directly.

a big problem is that its not just a during post issue. from what members describe here it can happen just by changing resolution or using the nVidia Control panel, so if a firmware fix is to be made, throttling will not be the solution, and shouldnt be. sure if it was a post only bug and to throttle the card while in the post stage does no harm, but in os the peformance of the card better remain the same otherwise fixing them card by card via a power mod is the more viable soltuion.
