Default Realtek...speaker fill...gheyness

hey all
my current setup is 2.1 (not a logitech thing but individual stuff).
In the realtek settings i have it set to 5.1 with speaker fill on and rear pair and sub ticked.

The problem is that i dont have rear speakers so when i play games and such, i cant hear the voices when im not facing the people. Now if i make the rear pait unticked so i can the sound is echo'y (i assume to make it more 5.1).

How can i fix this?

Cheers

If you have a 2.1 setup why are you trying to run 5.1? just untick speaker fill and make sure its on 2.1 in the control panel.

Lulz, speaker fill is when for people like me sound only comes out of stereo left/right and subwoofer rather than all 5.1... not to make 2.1 sound like 5.1 :P

EDIT: Turn off speaker fill.

I think what you want is speaker setup: also in the control panel but not under enhancements should be an option for three speakers (2.1), and that's what you want to set.

It seems that the 2.1 option is missing from the Vista drivers... Maybe try the workaround mentioned here: http://www.vistax64.com/drivers/1856...ealtek-hd.html

by a sound card, its what I had to do to get 4.1 without using speaker fill ,which as you know is shite Get any creative with a few outputs and which supports CMSS.
