Audio Technica AD900.
More info as to why the AD900 over all else in the rough price range. http://headphones.com.au/forums/view...php?f=2&t=3191 The headphones closer to the bottom of the list are in your price range.

Gaming is far less demanding than music, so you're extremely unlikely to notice much of a difference between a $200 pair of headphones and a $400 pair if they're just for games, except in soundtracks. Highly compressed "pewpew, kaboom!" sounds aren't exactly high fidelity.
With that said, the AD900 would be a great choice, unless you want a primarily "doof doof" headphone

If it's gaming only, then a $400 budget is probably overkill, as you can only extract so much positional audio from game files - it maxes out at a certain point, and no amount of extra money on phones can create more.
The AD700 is likely going to give you exactly the same performance for gaming. The difference between the two comes in using them for music. |

How much different is the 700 compared to the 900?
I've got an audigy 2 zs (not that great), and I'm thinking of upgrading either the 700 or the sound card. The AD700 is comfy and great sounding. Just want to know how much better the 900 is. |

Comfort and build is identical.
For games there won't be a significant audible difference, but for music there's a big difference, assuming you're listening to decent source material. |

If you ordered them from us we have stock arriving any day, our supplier shipped us the wrong product, otherwise we would have had them late last week
