Using that policy to return a game you've finished seems to me like legalised piracy.

From a sales point of view, there's no difference between doing that, and downloading a PC game, finishing it within 7 days and then deleting it from your HDD.

Blame EB. They are the ones who allow it.

OR you could call it customer protection because if you can finish whole game in 7 days and there is nothing more you can do with it then some might consider this a rip off

Agreed. Games are so simple and short down these days. The fact that they sell them for such high prices still is a rip off.

I wasn't trying to say it's right or wrong, just drawing a comparison for those defending it, that if people are abusing the return policy on purpose, it's no different to pirating, if only through a legal workaround.

I completely agree that Australians get screwed on game prices, that there are too many mediocre games released, etc etc.

Is there anywhere I can buy a game and return it within a few days of purcahse if I dont like it?
I vaguely remember something like that, if you purchased 2 games using the 2 for $50 deal, you can return them within 30 days and they will give you 50% back.

My nephew asked if i could return a game for him so when I did, I got told because its been more than 7 days ( was actually 8 ) that I could only get a gift card. I told him that Sunday isnt classified as a working day and he told me "we have EB stores that are open in Sundays" smart ass.

Anyone know If I could buy a game with the gift card and then hand the game back and ask for my money back?

I dont see how its piracy. Thats like saying if I bought a game from EB then re sold it for the same price that thats also piracy.

The receipt is pretty clear on how it was originally purchased.

The guys right. it says 7 days. not 7 business days.

And even if it said 7 trading days most are open sundays so that's fine

consider it a test drive.... you can do the same with cars (btw, with I could download cars )

at least car yards are normally honest enough to not sell demonstraters as brand new!

Yeah, its 7 working days. What, isn't EB Games open on Sundays in Perth or something? That'd really cut into their profits more then people returning games continously.
