Yeah, please do review.

Espeically I want to know the following:

How is the volume level?

How well does the sub handle itself, particularly extending the lower frequencies, how clear is the whole system?

@hankahanaka: Mate I did exactly the same - $30 on ebay! Sweet.

Only problem ios there was no install cd. Did you get one? If so any chance you could burn a copy, Ill pay you for postage + some....?

@Greasybear, what do you think of them? Ive heard that they actually arent all that great, thats why I was going to get the S530s.

Now that I have bought the new sound card, I have ordered Logitech Z-Cinemas, which look like they should be quite good. Only issue, is the damn things run through USB and bypass the soundcard. You can go analogue input, but apparently they sound a lot worse that way.

Does anyone own a pair?

I will be honest with you, even if someone were to give me an Audigy 2, I wouldn't use it. The old creative drivers are the bane. They honestly are stupid old bastards when it comes to software support.

Atleast Asus got their drivers in a decent state even on release, though their updates were few and far between, it wasn't quite as critical as what the creative cards need.

Yeah thats kinda true, but they are supporting Win 7 still, and believe me, the jump from onboard to Audigy 2 ZS is a big leap in quality.

Only issue I have is trying to track down a copy of the install CD, drivers are available online, but not all of the software is and I am missing the graphic equaliser.

S730's sound very good. Pump out decent power as well which is just right for my room (at halfway if's mildly shaking most things, full power would probably cause minor distress in the walls i think). BUT, I've run into a slight hiccup with one of the bookshelf's mid speaker driver failing to produce any sound at all from the beginning but the 1.1 setup fills out the room well with mono goodness. Guess I was in the unlucky x% of people buying 'new stuff' failing these days.

Ah. I was looking at some S530s myself, was VERY keen on them, but now they are just too hard to find, so instead I am getting Logitech Z-5500s.

Wasnt going to go the 5.1 route, but as long as Im spending the money I might as well go the full hog, so to speak.

Was reading a review of these online. One reviewer was testing them, next day the police turn up to hand him a noise violation notice (or whatever the exact terms is). Turns out it was his next door neighbour who filed it.

Only problem is, she is deaf. Totally deaf.

13 of her pictures fell off the wall!

As the reveiwer said: "Moral of the story, these speakers are loud enough even to piss of the deaf".

LOL.
Terrible. I dont plan on using that kind of power, but its nice to know you have it: 180W sub!

Yeah I was going to, but they dont have them anymore.

I am getting my Z5500s through them for that very reason though (paying $80 more than I need to in order to reward them for all the work they have done for me recently).
