direct conversions NEVER work

Doigal, there is no CF card reader, only xD/SD/MS/MMC formats.

Average wage is around GBP25k here, and its AUD$400 more than the aussie price, agreed that 100% direct wont work but dell UK is a total ripoff

Mmm thats a really strange move from dell. Most decent dSLRs use CF cards still, and this is a monitor clearly aimed at them for one of its target markets.

most people with cameras have already sprung for a decent card reader anyway. I prefer having small devices for this kinda stuff, easy to move around the house

we are going to request a replacement, but we just want to know, does the replacement come from refurbished ones? or is it another 'brand new' one?

cheers

I have read online that some U2410's have shown the same green/pink tint issue that affected the Philips 240PW9EB & HP LP2475w which also use the same LG IPS panel.

Good question on replacement of the monitor & I've always been curious regarding the replacement option as opposed to requesting a refund within the set time period (14 days or something) & then just buying another one again. I know that you don't always get a brand new replacement if a replacement is what you request, it depends on the fault. There's plenty of people on here who have had experience with replacements & can shed more light on that.

pretty sure Dell isn't anymore different from most other companies in regard to replacement. They will most probably you another flawed display which is "within spec" and working. Unless you insist on a brand new one which may take weeks.
Otherwise the best bet is to get a refund but i heard you will need to pay for the delivery expenses back to wherever it is.

meh i opened up the other screen last night
has a green tinge in certain movies

browsing is fine, pages appear white, as does dead pixcel tester.

just that in some scenes in movies, there is a definite green tinge.

eg: in twilight, the school cafeteria scene where the vamps first make their appearance, - all green tinge, but later scenes are fine.

wierd!

Question

Maybe it has something to do with the quality of the movie rip? Other wise, if you are within the 14 days, INSIST on a new replacement... and don't accept anything else, afterall, they have the premium panel warranty... I have exchanged my 2408 about 4 times, and every time they have sent me a new one....
