Ok so assassins dressed as nuns, believable (who'd suspect a nun?). Then they all pull out very loud and attention grabbing guns including a fucking RPG. Then 47 gets into a fist fight? He had the jump. A few well placed headshots and it would be over. Guess that isn't cinematic enough.

It was good knowing you 47...

Nuns dress in skintight PVC micro-dresses. And six-inch heels. And full makeup.

You know, perfect CQB gear.

As you do.

Also, if that's indicative of...ahem..."gameplay", then explain to me how you pull off all those complex, balletic moves, eh?

My guess is "press X to win".

I forgot to mention that part. The nun idea was plausible till they stripped down to skimpy latex/PVC dresses. I'd imagine the nun robes would be more comfortable in combat than PVC.

Charlie Brooker, in relation to that trailer says:

*But who is Charlie Brooker?*

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlie_Brooker

Quote:
Charlton "Charlie" Brooker (born 3 March 1971) is a British journalist, screenwriter and broadcaster. His style of humour is savage and profane, with surreal elements and a consistent satirical pessimism. He presents TV shows Screenwipe, Gameswipe and Newswipe, wrote a review column for The Guardian newspaper and currently writes a comment piece each Monday for The Guardian supplement G2, and is one of four creative directors of comedy production company Zeppotron. His five-part horror drama Dead Set for E4 earned him a nomination for a BAFTA. Brooker won Columnist of the Year at the 2009 British Press Awards for his column,[1] and the Best Newcomer at the British Comedy Awards 2009. He is co-presenter of 10 O'Clock Live on Channel 4. He has also presented the documentary series How TV Ruined Your Life on BBC Two and created the Channel 4 satirical drama trilogy Black Mirror

Trailer for Hitman: Absolution is terrible shit aimed at base, clueless imbeciles. Fuck the games industry if it thinks that works. Fuck it.

Actually, that'll probably make ppl want to see it. Don't bother. It's a waste of your fucking time.

I won't be buying that piece of shit game, and if they send it to me I'll toss it out the window.

Talk about setting the games industry back about 27 years. fucking morons.

I guess there's a word for troll-trailers like that one. Troilers? Pfff.

I think it's the crushing lack of imagination that's most offensive. It's shit aimed squarely at morons.
Finally, somebody who has some influence comes out and says it like it is. For fucks sake, it took long enough.

Brooker. Fucking legend. Writes for The Guardian, one of the few papers with credibility.

So, who's going to buy a copy of this game, and film yourself burning it and putting it on youtube? I know I feel like it!

Will it make a difference? With a marketing budget, pretty obvious demographic targeting, and "friendly" reviewers I bet it will still make money. The parallels to Hollywood are obvious, and look how many money-making turds come out of there every year. No-one ever went broke underestimating public taste.

That doesn't work. If you do that, the game's already fulfilled its purpose.
