Default iPhone plugin - Tapatalk

I have been looking at an addon that is supposed to make iPhone vBulletin much more useable. Being the chronic nerd that I am run other forums (VWWatercooled) and have just installed this mod to our vBulletin install.

vBulletin.org link
Tapatalk Link

You need to get this app called Tapatalk to make it work. The app itself is $3.99

So why am I posting here? Two fold reasons, I'm hoping my fellow members consider it a good idea and that the admins consider it a worthwhile addition to the board (then I can use the new app to get into more forums!)

So far it's looking much easier than zooming in on the little Page 1,2,3 buttons and seems like a useful addition. If your interested in having a look there a lots of boards already listed through Tapatalk you can play with.

it's definitely intriguing,

but, i've never tried vaispy.php on the iphone safari browser.

how does tapatalk handle login/security and hyper-periodic updates ?

oh, hilariously, there's a NC17+ rating on the app. very well done. apparently vbulletin forums are hotbeds of sex, violence, gambling, mature themes and cartoon violence.

You'll find that practically all apps that allow access to the Internet, or have direct access to the Internet are 'required' by Apple to have this rating.

Yet another brilliant example of Apple's incompetence to maintain a clear and well defined rating & approval process for the iPhone.

*Edit*
Tapatalk looks cool. I'd suggest alerting Agg to it if you haven't already.

Why not just a native mode on vBulletin for mobile devices, detected via the User Agent of the browser, so all mobile devices can be catered for?

Oh yeah, thats right, pretty sure its been stated it wont happen, due to ads and the like....

Default Tapatalk?

*bump*

Any hope of getting Tapatalk up and running?

I do 90% of my forum browsing from mobile now and I miss out on OCAU because it doesn't have Tapatalk support...

....Just use safari? Opera mini (on windows mobile) is more then capable of browsing OCAU in normal mode, I even browse at 100 posts per page. Surely Safari will be able to cope in normal browse mode?

It's so slow and annoying viewing a web forum with pinch and squeeze to go in far enough to see the text and then out far enough to navigate around the forum and then far enough in again to read or post as to be impractical for anything except very small scale use.
