Heaps of heat very inefficient design just turn down the brightness to like 30ish and it should be a bit cooler

I've had one of these U2711s for around a year and a half (can't remember exactly how long). It's an awesome screen, best screen I've owned.
Mine chucks out a bit of heat as well, especially today in Melb where it's 35 deg-ish. I haven't had any problems with it at all despite the warmth coming out of it on hot days, and there is always the 3 year warranty. To the person asking about whether the USB ports in the screen are powered, I've had no issues using USB flash sticks on it or charging my phone from it. The anti-glare coat is a bit dingier than it could be but it's not a deal-breaker and I got used to it in around a week. I'm not a fan of glossy screens at all. I paid $620 for it all that time ago and it was well worth it.

Sold mine, wish I didnt.. but meh AG coating always bugged me anyway and it was a hot display, so I'm going to get a 1440p PLS Samsung 9 series display instead with glossy screen.

I tried the RACQ/motoring organisation coupon and it replaces the discount(making it ~$764).

I tried the dell chat and they were pretty useless, wouldn't come down from the $719 price, ended up getting a mint one 2nd hand for $500.
Very kickass monitor
