Really? I *Just* completed factions today, and I'm faffing around in Heart of the Shiverpeaks as we speak. I've been playing for 5 years on and off.

I've mentioned it on the GW1 thread, but I've completed Prophecies and now Factions and most of GWEN completely solo. (as in, without people to help, but using Heroes and Henchmen from time to time)

If you're REALLY stuck, get a discordway team going, you'll faceroll through all the content in no time. You'll need to do a little of nightfalls missions to get Master of Whispers Necro Hero though.

I never found Nightfall or GWEN missions to be enjoyable solo. Now that there is not even one group doing the missions, i've got even less chance of bothering to do it.

The only reason i tried to do it this week was because of the Hall of Monuments... but now that i realise that doing them solo would be akin to watching paint dry, i cant be bothered.

What does the hall of monuments give you? I just revived my GW account the other day. HAd my password stolen a couple of times. I think it was because of the random login thing that was happening with ncsoft when aion came out.

NCsoft have yet to release the benefits of having a full Hall of Monuments (apart from having character names reserved)
But they anticipate releasing that info within 8 weeks, so stay tuned.

I am liking a lot of what I'm seeing here. Very nice.

About the only thing I find a bit disappointing is that it looks like you need to buy stuff from their store to customise your own look. LOTRO does this a bit better by allowing you to have 2 sets of costume slots you can switch to (besides the equipped gear) for visuals.

With LOTRO recently switching to incorporating a store, I'm finding the whole "commercialisation" aspect some what distasteful - I want to play my way thru a game, not shop my way.

Still, just the idea of not having to be concerned about node ninjas and other MMO low lives

- that's good to hear. It's on my list to watch...

Microtransactions will be a minor part of GW2 as they have never been part of ArenaNets gaming manifesto. The thought of someone buying their way into a leet toon is abhorent to them.

Most items in general will always be avail only as drops.

it doesnt seem to work for me, i have 5 years worth of mini pets on my chars and it comes up as if i have none.

Taken them into your HoM and on an unlocked 'devotion' shrine, put them on display
