I've been following the updates for a while on the 7D at canonrumors.com
Its tempting to get, but I wanna see the finished spec sheet. They increased the MP count for a crop and every1 is spewing about it. But who knows maybe there will be less noise on this only time will tell. Supposebly there was a strong rumor coming through that the 7D had built in master capability (no need for ST-E2). but the following rumours had no mention of it. If it does have the built in wireless, that will be the deal maker and i'm gonna pull the trigger. I was hoping for a FF with the same specs, but Canon can't start by pull all the tricks outta the bag.

An xD with a 1.6 crop sensor? Doesn't make sense. Looks more like a 50D on roids if anything.

Yeah but if it is can't you simply downsize the image to 12mp for instance and run noise ninja over it or similar?
Don't really get the mp debate a huge amount, unless you're losing huge amounts of detail in the shots. If a camera retains detail well, even if it looks fairly shit at high isos it tends not to bother me. Similar deal with the k20d, it doesn't handle iso 3200 that well, but it keeps detail relatively well. From there i'd just scale down the image from 14.6mp down to 12/10mp or so. But I mostly only print A4 sizing due to lots of paintings in the house so noise levels even at iso 3200 printed on A4 are fairly minimal. But I guess, comes down t how well it retains the detail! Dunno if the above is frowned upon as a thing to do, but it always worked reasonably well for me, mind you I didn't often find myself shooting at 1600+ if I could help it.

I think this camera will be a big hit for all 40d, 50d users main reason being the massive leap in focus points, that is massive plus for its upgrade.
1.6 crop i'm not too sure about, would be better if it was a 1.3 and a tad strange how the xD line will be a 1.6? an 18MP 1.6 crop i'll be excited to see some sample images Lets just hope it isn't too expensive

8fps certainly has me interested - I though the xDs were usually lower FPS. There's rumours of the 60D being a full-frame sensor - I'm currently waiting for the 60D (regardless of whether or not it's full-frame, it doesn't interest me as a feature) to replace my 450D rather than getting a 50D now.
