Hi all,
about 20 minutes ago i put BackTrack 3 onto my USB. I stuck it into my netbook and booted into it. It does all its stuff and it comes to a login screen. I can login, but i have no idea what to do from there. My main problem is, is that it is a CLI and ive seen screen shots of a GUI. Does anyone know how to get from the CLI to the GUI? |

BackTrack deliberately boots into a terminal because the majority of the tools can be used in a terminal and you really don't want to wait for X to start just to run a quick nmap command or something.
![]() As already mentioned, startx will start the GUI for you if you require it.
