    K10 Cool 'N' Quite Dude!

Disable it in the bios if you like :)

It just under clocks your CPU if it's not under load :)

There are so many posts regarding this, it should be stickied. OP -> Run Orthos or something and then check CPU-Z and you will see your 3.2GHz.

    mmm...

AMD have implemented a function that tells the CPU to run at a slower speed when it is not under full use.

This can be disabled in the BIOS. Under advanced Chipset Config. iirc.

    It's perfectly right, it's just a feature.

and i cant see any reason why you might disable it (unless youre OCing, and even then i think normal OCing will work fine with speedstep/cool 'n quiet?) - saves a lot of power when your computer is idle :)

When you are overclocking, once you have found the speeds you want to run i find that PhenomMSRTweaker is great.

Just careful with the voltages, i find if i add +150mv vcore in the bios and in the program use 1.3v i will still get a 1.45 true voltage.

if u run orthos (or something that loads the cpu) and it goes to 3.2 then its fine. if it doesnt then u need to update the bios as stated above.

if it doesn't read 3.2 in the bios then you need to update it.

this will be a much quicker way of seeing that the CPU is running at.
