If you're with Telstra you get $50 if you going over to Telstra it's $100.

Hey the Additional Included call value1 for eligible calls $35 in the Ultimate $55 plan, is this like a $35 pot, which is used for talk/sms/internet when you happen to use up any of those bonuses?

my dad's in hong kong and says that he can get them for around $4000HK ($570ish AUD).

told him to bargain hard and get me one. i figure i have no use for nextG capability, as im on 3, and its owned by vodafone, which has rolled out its 900mhz 3g network. cant see the three nextG roaming agreement to be in place terribly much longer.

Default Using the Telstra NextG HD2 on Optus

My question is: If I buy the HD2 from Telstra (or jb), can I use it ( get internet access) on the Optus network?

Having read this thread ahead of time, I thought I knew the answer but after my trip to the TLife store tonight I'm confused.

I thought that I would be able to in the cbd but not in the "rural" areas on the 900 network.

However, the salesman at the TLife store said that internet access, not the phone, was locked to Telstra. They had a working unit on display and he showed me the connections settings and there was some text there indicating that it was locked.

So, is he correct? Is anyone using a telstra sourced unit on optus? Is it just a matter of using a custom rom? or was the guy just trying to get me to sign up to telstra (ie doing his job) ?

thanks in advance.

Long story short I told him website says $829...but he says that's upfront online price...if something goes wrong, you cant take it to a TLife store for repair etc etc...so I ended up getting it for $929...paid off $100 up front, so I'm still happy enough..it's only an extra $3 or $4 a month anyway.

But I'm still keen to prove him wrong and go back to the store with proof that $829 is not just the online price...

Ah well...I got my Leo...I'm happy
It must have been a Telstra licensed store or a dealer rather than a Telstra owned store, thus the different price. They're free to price the phones as they please (read: higher).
Note: what the salesperson said about repairs and all that is bullshit.

I went into a T-Life store today, and it was definitely $829 in store. They'd sold out though!

Well one, you flash the rom to piss off the Telstra shit.
Two, judging by the 2100 band which my N95 only supports, I get 2g/3g/3.5g and Edge so really not having 900 shouldn't matter, this is with Voda though, I just don't want to pay for the whole phone hah.

No he is incorrect.

The settings that are locked are the Telstra settings yes, but this is to prevent users stuffing up the Telstra settings. Nothing wrong with creating a new connection (Modem, APN etc) on the device and using that.

You simply can't edit the Telstra internet connection settings that are in the phone, you can however change it to another connection that you can make

(If the above makes sense?? It would make more sense if you have used WM in the past)

$829 is definatly the price (JB Hifi, Telstra Online, TSN and T[life]*) and yes, you can take a device purchased over the phone into a tlife store for repair, so long as you have a reciept.

* TLS can change prices slightly, which is probably why you where told 1299.

http://www.bestwindowsmobileapps.com...your-hand.html

It's not freeware though.

The Risk clone called Add-Venture is another good classic game to have on the HD2.

What does WM have to do with WP. But seriously, thanks.

Well, had mine for about 18 hours now, haven't put it down the whole time lol...have to say, coming from an HTC Himalaya then HTC Blue Angel, then HTC Diamond, and now the HD2...this thing is a fuggin beast!! It really really does rival the iPhone in terms of speed, functionality and eye candy!

Runing Duttys new (2.01) ROM at the moment...haven't had any problems...battery life isn't to flash hot, but installed WMLongLife to help keep it respectable.

Not going to bother with a screen protector, as it simply doesn't need one in my opinion. Will still get that case though, keep it nice and scratch free

Slowly getting all my tweaks together now, just as I like it...

Forked out for the supporter version of fpsece last night, didnt have any luck getting it to run on the build i had so im trying Miri's 21889

Short of setting up sashimi (not gonna happen) ive got the reflash process dialled in nicely

EDIT: Hey Wolf, when you spot this i dont spose you could flick me a PM or email (mshagg at bigpond dot com) with the contents of your fpsece.ini? I know you'll have your own controller setup but just want to get a base config happening. Cheers in advance!
