ocasionally, when EA are doing maintenance I get that message, but as soon as I sign back in again a little later on it is all sweet.

I think with the update last week and the AFL legacy pack maybe they are having some server issues....

I am tempted to join in, but haven't played a NFL game in 4 or 5 years.

Will be returning NFS Shift tomorrow, still not long enough to learn how to play Madden 10.

Had a glitch occur just before. Other team was going for the 3 and hit the post, yet were still awarded the points. It didn't bounce through either, as the commentator suggested. Still won though

It takes ~5 games to get the hang of things. I was in a similar situation, having not played since 07.

The season join up date closes this weekend but doesn't officially start until next weekend. There's also a good chance you won't have to play anyone other than the CPU in the first few rounds. My first game against a human controlled team is still 3 weekends away (round 2).

The more the merrier, the franchise will provide you with multiple levels of skill for competition and you still have over a week to practice.

As dboy says, a lot of your games will be against the CPU, at rookie level for the first 6 weeks!

Looks like someone from over at Whirlpool. That'd be my guess for where all these rands are coming from. Can't be bothered signing up here maybe? I'll send them a whim and see what they say.

Yeah. Whoever has posted in their madden thread has included the franchise name and password and no other details. That's why you are getting people sign up and not coming here first.

I posted the rules on their forum so now we just wait I guess. Hopefully this will end the "who the hell is ________" confusion.

Oh, and for those who are getting the 'Cannot connect to Franchise server' message, restart the game and when you go online, make sure you go straight into Franchise without playing any other online game. It somehow stuffs it up...don't ask me why, but this works.
