Hi Guys,

I'd appreciate if you could help me out, Im looking to know how much the company you work for or know of charge hourly for I.T projects i.e. Installing Windows Server + Firewall + Switch configuration etc in a small business, just any sort of project/implementation.

Just looking for a rough hourly rate to know if my companies prices are competitive, Please specify if prices are ex gst or inc gst.

Please, anyone running a business knows this answer already or how to obtain the answer. This is a university task question.

Dimension Data charge $880 per 4 hour block - that covers checkpoint firewall, cisco routers and various other high-end networking config, setup etc.

We Charge $1200-1800 per day (although we aren't exactly IT providers. Our consultancy is somewhat specialised around Enterprise BI/Datawarehousing projects).

I charge out at $240 ex. GST specializing in medium to large Business consulting for Solaris/Oracle/Storage projects.

I suspect Windows/Firewall stuff to be much less.

You should always charge enough so that 10-20% clients complain about the price.

This is a free tip. I pay a fortune for tips like this

Definately.

Depending on what you do, where not discussing fixing computers more advanced stuff: firewalls, servers, monitoring, backup etc.

I charge $70 an hour just to fix a computer for home users and they dont complain, im also young which makes it harder to charge high rates (im 20)

so you basically charge $500 to show up.

I have 3 pricing tiers, $90 ex for small business, $120 ex for medium-large remote, $150 ex for medium-large onsite. All plus travel.

Prices will go up at end of year
