Where did you get this information from?
I have a disc such as that. However it cost me 50 bucks from HMV . Great little tool. Does the whole lot. Video, Audio and so forth. Now to get myself an spl meter.

Put disc 1 in you DVD player.
Select "Language Selection" in the main menu. In the upper middle of the screen (between "Audio" and "Subtiles") you will see - Lucasfilm THX Optimiser To get to the THX optimiser highlight "THX". To watch the movie with THX sound highlight "Lucasfilm THX" Amorphous |

Have a go with Video Essentials $34.95
http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/2469/id=yzhlz:zvTvn or Ultimate DVD platinum demo $24.95 http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/552/id=yzhlz:zvTvn or AVIA or the like. I have the Ultimate disc, one disc is pure demo material, the other is part demo and part calibration, video and audio. It's worth spending the time to get it right, it may look wrong at first, but that's because you've had years of bad picture drilled into you. The other option is to pay for an ISF calibration, but that's kind of expensive. Blakey. |

Ok,
You will need a SPL meter. I use Tandy #30-2050 analog which is like $80. You might want Avia and Video Essentials (I have both). This is for NTSC DVD. It's slightly off for PAL but all the calibrations I've done I've ended up modifying it a bit to my liking. I found the picture slightly bright for me. T. |
