Since you helped me out other day in IRC I'll be more then happy to help you my friend ....

Recent cataloge from "Strathfield" has a cheap Amplifier for sale ($199)... I dont know shit all bout em so ill just type out what the advertisement says and give you the URL....

ORITRON --> 5.1 Channel AC-3 AMPLIFIER
"At this hot price, everyone can afford to experience the deep bass and cinematic realism of dolby digital home entertainment. 30 watts x 5 channel amplification, a dolby pro-lodgic decoder and 5.1 channel input for cutting edge audio sources so you can really pump up the volume!"

I dunno much, but I doubt this thing will do anything like DTS or shit like that... but it sounds like your just after a temporary cheapy....

www.strathfield.com

Hope this was wot you was after

'ORITRON' are really the crappest thing around...they could be compared to Teac or something.

Hughesey i'd recommend visiting a stereo store like Stereo Supplies (or even Myer).

Brands such as Harman Kardon, Onkyo, Sony, Technics, etc are the brands to look for. However they are pretty expensive.

TEAC actually go from one extreme to the other.....Their top of the line recording equipment is fantastic.

Thanks heaps barcode, Im happy to help anytime

But whats more important here is the amount of power output.... 30W isnt quite enough, im after around 100w. And as I said, it doesnt need to have dolby digital (cos i know i couldnt afford a 100w per chanel dts amp :P)
