Default Project: "Radiation Hazard"

This is my first attempt at modding, have been looking at other projects and sites to get ideas on how and what I want to do so I am ready to start.

The case is a old generic case I have dimensions L32cm x H 49cm x W 19cm

Front view

Sides

Back view

The plan:

Add a 120mm turbo fan in the front red LED for affect
Add a 120mm fan in the top and bottom same as above.
Add the DVD drive in the top
Add a side window of perspex in the shape of a radiation symbol (trefoil)
Attach some case feet.
Paint or powder coat the case yellow to go with the theme.
Change the buttons on the front.
Place some red LED inside.
Add some more holes in mobo tray for cable management.

My creative blue print real pro work here

Time:

It will take me ages with work, kids and money all playing their part but stay tuned.

Nice! Should look really good when your done with it The window should look good - I'm stuck on ideas for the window in my mod!

PS: Do you plan on doing like fade in/out lights (kinda like the EVGA lights on their classified board)? Cause if you do I have a few components for the circuit that will do so that i can give you (free)! I had to buy a pack of 5 of the chips and a pack of 20 transistors (only a few resistors and an electrolytic capacitor are needed beside that - should only cost about $4 at dick smith). I only need one or two of each so yeah... If you need them, let me know.

Do you have a CUDA supported NVIDIA GPU? If so, YOU need to help out fellow OCAU members by going to this thread!

will be interesting to see how the window and blow hole goes.
what gave you the idea for the DVD drive in that position?

Changing the DVD drive position like that I think will turn out pretty cool. Gonna pinch that idea for myself.

I was in a loss with how I was gonna stealth the drive in the front so I thought why not the top easier to hide more of a challenge

The next instalment, I have taken more of the panels off by drilling out rivets and removing screws.

Top off

Discovered that the mobo tray slides out, this will come in handy.

Started to work on the side that the window is going in, taped up already, I drilled some holes as I am using my jigsaw with a metal cutting bit lots of fun “NOT” but I got it done used a file to make a bit neater, will need more work.

Holes drilled

Rough cut before filing

Filing done more work required.

Things I have learned, its hard to do windows when they are not a standard square shape.

Will post more shots as I do more work.
